Introduced this past July bu the great Sheila Jackson-Lee D-TX
Wow, just Wow.
I am at a loss for words.
Thank God I do not see a snowballs chance in hell of it passing unless AOC becomes president and the dems take the house and senate

HB4081 is a full blown, mandatory firearm registry without no exceptions. Not only a registry but it requires a list 'specifying the identity of any person to whom, and any period of time during which, the firearm will be loaned to the person.'

It also requires a license from the Attorney General to own firearms, a required psychological evaluation before getting a license, training and an insurance policy.

It even requires a license from the AG to 'display an antique firearm' in ones own home! There are also 'special rules' for owning a so-called 'military style weapon'.

The bill also outlaws all ammunition .50 cal or greater and 'large capacity' magazines over 10 rounds.

It gives every gun owner 3 months from passage to register their firearms or face a $75,000 - $100,000 fine and imprisonment of not less than 10 years but no more than 15.

Sounds like an almost total repeal of the second amendment. Which commie politician introduced this bill?
So I would now have to get a license for my 18th century flintlock?

Sheila Jackson Lee must be unaware of basic history, Americans killed a lot of Redcoats, for committing crimes that are lot less serious than what she intends to do.
I never thought that I would see the day, that common sense became the enemy of a political party. But none of the Dems have any sense now.

Our congress is fast becoming a repository for the mentally infirm. And the members feel no shame in the "association".

Agree! but, this same congress is the one that have the authority to make those insane laws, laws that being the law of the land force us "law abiding citizens" to obey them!
My question is this: How come we allowed these idiots to become our "representative" in congress? Guess what, WE VOTED FOR THESE IDIOTS! SO IT IS OUR FAULT!

We no longer can afford to sit on the fence, we either vote Republican or loose our rights!

However, the authority which give the Congress the authority to pass laws (the Constitution) doesn't give that selfsame Congress the power to pass laws than are in conflict with the Constitution. And I know, these laws can go into effect until stopped by the Judiciary or ruled unconstitutional by SCOTUS. But...some of these liberal idiots will insist of passing patently unconstitutional laws irrespective of obvious precedents.

I seriously think that we won’t rebel no matter how far they push. There are groups and individuals who are just aching to settle this crap. I don’t think they believe it will happen but I’m throughly convinced it will happen and it won’t be pretty.
~35,000,000 gun owners who own ~350,000,000 guns and about 1,000,000,000,000 rounds of ammo The combined militaries of the 5 largest armed governments do not have that capability.

Yes, the laws these idiots make, will become law, they may be unconstitutional, but they will stay on the books and active until some one with a lot of time and plenty of money can challenge them, and that is what the Socialist DemocRATS count on.
It is easy to make a law, it is very difficult to annul one.

Yes we have the numbers, but contrary to popular beliefs we do not possess military weapons.
if the military stands down that would make the difference.
semi automatic will not win against tanks RPG’s and fully automatic weapons in the hands of people well trained to use them.
all out civil war would have to be a drawn out guerrilla war.
I hope no one wants that
Tell all that to the people of Afghanistan..............

This is not Afghanistan and we are not an Islamic country, firstly, and we seem to lack the provincial tribes, nor are our states governors tribal warlords we have sworn fealty to. Try to stay focused on where you live, and who you and we are.

Some people have watched "Red Dawn" far too many times.
True but God I pray we never turn into Afghanistan

Only if we allow them to take our guns.

Interesting fact: The Afghanis were getting their butts beat by the Russians until the US began providing them with Stinger missiles.

Weapons can always be found/bought or bargained for in any Country for what ever reason.

Just cause is where Good Will comes into play for another Country to furnish them weapons.

And do you not think that those Military weapons wouldn't be stolen/acquired by those civilians?
I cannot recall a successful violent revolution that was not aided and abetted by foreign influences.

Technically, they're the rebels and we may be the defenders of the Constitution.

Big question is, if such a law were ever passed, other than in Chicago, New York, Baltimore, etc., who is going to enforce it?

The German Democratic Republic, the Soviet Union, and many other communist countries with RPGs, tanks, and fully automatic weapons have been overthrown by populations far less armed than is ours.

There's always the question of how many in our armed forces defend tyranny versus how many defend the Constitution. I think those who think the army won't fight the people are missing that today's army is not the army that we baby-boomers knew. Today's army is full of immigrants, even known illegal immigrants, offered great rewards to follow orders. It is filled with leftists whose ideas don't at all mirror those of many here. Oh, sure, some would support us, but many would support the tyrants.

More scary, to me, than the armed forces who would support tyranny is the state and local police who would enforce the laws like this. They already willingly participate in many unconstitutional and enforcement programs.

Yes but the above examples are of countries which we made the governments weak with our policies during the Cold War.
There was not a popular uprising of the people to take back their government by force.
Think your other remarks are spot on.
