I am looking for a gunsmith in the NE florida area and was hoping that someone may be able to point me in the right direction. I have a spring field armory 1911-a1 stainless that was customized by my father who is no longer working on Them.
Well its been awhile since I`ve been in Florida only one guy I`d recommend Chuck Smith he is out of South Central Florida so the drive might put you off...I had a .32 HSC no one could seem to get working when I went to him he took the gun apart cleaned everything and talked to me about the kind of ammo I was using.. Because he found nothing mechanicly wrong with the gun..I stepped up in ammo and have never had another problem out of this gun. He charged $20 for the cleaning and said advise is always free..And told me the gun is worth about $750 it is a nazi issue and showed me the markings and said it was a rare find with 2 mags and holster and original barrel. He advised me to enjoy it shoot on a limited basis
Thank you for the response. That sounds like the type of guy i want to go with. That hsc is definately a rare find and only to be fired on special occasions. My father recieved a nazi issue 9mm luger as a gift from his brother in-law and we all went out and put a few rounds each through it. It is just for looking at now. The work i need done is mostly cosmetic and a little fine tuning. My father gave it to me when i came home from the Corps and i will probably put it away after i get it worked on.
