Some revolvers had a V notch cut in the hammer as a rear sight! That probably has what a lot of revolvers do, a slight V indentation on the frame lengthwise.
I believe the LeMat was one!In the hammer? Wow, I've never seen that.
D Nickerson. If you look closely you'll see that this hammer is notched for use as a rear sight!
Didn't mean to imply it did. Was just commenting on alternative to no rear frame mounted sights. The hammer on the S&W posted isn't high enough to have a sight notch on the hammer and will probably just have the groove down the top of the frame. I am wondering why it's posted here though? Not familiar with the gun so I'm guessing a rare model? Certainly doesn't show any bling.
I've seen this too recently. My understanding was it is a new product. Dont think this gun's material was used in the Viet Nam era!!View attachment 105284 View attachment 105286 View attachment 105288
I got this off a mother forum. The poster says that these were used by tunnel rats in Vietnam. It fires .22 Win Mag 2 barrels at the same time.
Coulda bought one in 2003. Was between jobs and bills were due....Mateba MTR 8
