My wife told me i had to sell a gun before i could buy another. I reluctantly sold my P220 in hopes of getting a 1911. So Cup or Match, that is the question. Having only limited time on both i was wanting some pro advice. They are both sweet to the touch. My primary use is target.

What's the major pros / cons between series 1 and 2 ?

Its like asking someone about Chevy or Ford trucks.....

I have a pre-series II Gold Match. Mine is stainless. When it was new, the chamber was too tight and it had to go back to Kimber for a little reaming. I have shot the living fire out of this gun, and I have been very pleased with it. I have had 20lpi checkering cut to the front strap and a magwell installed also. The 20lpi is somewhat coarse, but give a very positive purchase on the grip. The series II guns with the new safety work off of the grip safety, and you wont feel it in the trigger.

I dont have experience with a Gold Cup, I am sure they are fine also.

you could use the Gold 'match' to light the fire, heating the coffee you drink in your Gold 'cup'.

I have the Team Match II which same pistol as Red-Rider but with a differenet set of grip. It's all stainless steel.
