Let's ask a few questions before getting our panties in a wad.

How much does Wayne LaPierre make as CEO of the NRA?
How does Mr. LaPierre's salary compare to CEOs of other companies?
Should Mr. LaPierre be allowed to earn money from book deals and speaking fees, outside that of his NRA salary?
Wouldn't Mr. LaPierre's salary and bonuses be determined and approved by the NRA Board of Directors?
While Mr. LaPierre has been the CEO of the NRA, has gun rights expanded or contracted under his watch?
If Mr. LaPierre stepping down from being the CEO of the NRA, who would you replace him with? Shannon Watts????

Don't be sucked in by those who want to weaken or take over the NRA. The left has changed it's tactics from attacking the NRA and it's members, to attacking the NRA's CEO. Again, don't be sucked in by the BS.

Is Steve Hilton, a Fox News host on the left? I'm not answering a question that I already know the answer to. I don't watch Fox, so I truly don't know.

And the article/video had nothing to do with Wayne's salary/compensation. It's his spending on a NRA account. View the video and connect the foreign travel and luxury vacation accommodations, paid by NRA, with lobbying here in the USA for the NRA. $250,000 for wardrobe in but a few years. Anyone here spend that amount on clothing in your lifetime?

Wayne's been in harness too long and been "crying wolf" with the exact same urgency, every time. I'm a financial supporter of NRA. But until we get a clean sweep of all the suspects, my check book stays closed. I'm sure Wayne can find another job, what with all the connections he's made over the years.

Steve Hilton is a center-left liberal richard-cranium. He has zero concept or understanding of American culture. He popped up from nowhere on Fox; I guess I should investigate which Murdoch he married.

Found his bio:

As the host of The Next Revolution (TNR), Hilton analyzes the impact of the populist movement, both in the United States and throughout the world. The program originates out of FNC's Los Angeles bureau, where he is joined by a panel of three experts each week. Additionally, Hilton features a segment called “SwampWatch”, which provides opinion and analysis about the agencies, industries, and political groups that are affecting President Trump’s pledge to “drain the swamp.”

Well, I've been watching his Sunday program since it aired many months back, and I suggest you watch it before venturing guesses that miss by a country mile. In fact, I believe he recently obtained U.S. Citizenship, via the Legal System. "Center-left liberal ........" Unbelievable.

I guess you missed the episodes where he talked about the need for reasonable gun restrictions while still protecting the 2nd Amendment.

UK or Australian talking heads always draw big audiences here; I don't get the fascination with the accents, myself. But their conservatives are all just to the left of Bill Clinton - including Steve Hilton.

Hilton has no understanding of what it's like to have love of liberty deep in your bones. He accepts government's right to rule the people and argues only to try to get government to rule benevolently.

The very heart and soul of America is not in just limited or benevolent government; it's in government with only a small set of enumerated powers. Hilton doesn't get that.

Steve Hilton said:
Donald Trump said:
I think a lot of really meaningful things on background checks will take place, including red flags, including a lot of other very important items," Grump said. "I think in the end, Wayne [LaPierre] and the NRA, will either be there or maybe be a little bit more neutral, and that would be okay, too.
My advice to the president on this: Trust your gut. You know the American people are crying out for change. They don't want machine guns on the streets and in the hands of people who could carry out such unspeakable evil.

Think of those beautiful children -- their lives cut short, their parents destroyed. If you're the president that finally breaks the logjam on guns -- while protecting the Second Amendment -- you won't just guarantee your reelection. You'll go down as a historic changemaker president, up there with Lincoln and Reagan.
I quit watching the idiot after his second show because he said something similar. It took me about 30 seconds of Bing time to find his latest statement and not even knowing he had said this; it's just a safe bet that if Steve Hilton is talking about the 2nd Amendment that he's talking about how to protect it while destroying it.

Steve Hilton promoting universal health care. He knows nothing at all, or knows and doesn't care, about the Constitution. He is used to being a subject and government that can do anything it wants.. Sadly, those who are in our government are certainly doing whatever they want but, though they recognize that government is taking powers they don't have, conservatives object and never say it is acceptable and never encourage more of it.

I'll say it again; Steve Hilton is a center-left liberal.

I don't who Hilton is. I don't care. I've never watched his show. You guys can argue about him all you want. What is very clear is that Wayne has become a greater liability than he is an asset. We need a strong NRA. It's time to move forward.

LaPierre has done more for the 2nd Amendment than all previous leaders of the NRA combined. He's also done more damage. I don't care about 300K in suits. When it was popular in the NRA to be a Fudd, he was as good of a Fudd as any NRA Fudd. And since the NRA was created by Fudds for Fudds, LaPierre was doing his job and doing it well.

The mission and priority of the NRA has changed as have the members and LaPierre has adapted. His job is to execute on the will of the members. He's doing a great job of that right now. A few days ago, Trump was committed to more background checks. Today he reassured LaPierre no new background checks were coming.

LaPierre may be a crook but the's a very, very, effective-for-us crook.

Who Steve Hilton is is very, very, critical to this discussion. Steve Hilton is the source of the discussion in the link in Post #1 of this thread. We're talking about this because Steve Hilton wants LaPierre gone. Now why would Steve Hilton be all fired up to get rid of LaPierre? Because Steve Hilton is, as I have proven, a center-left liberal. Steve Hilton wants more gun control and LaPierre stands in the way.

So think about who's pushing to get rid of LaPierre. It's very telling.

Like so many immigrants, Hilton claims he came to the US because he loves the US - and then immediately started to try to turn it into the UK. He's a hypocrite.
