Good for him.
About time we got some good news out of Florida.
I hope it passes.
I want it to pass but I don't hold out much hope. Florida has become one of those states where people are pushing really hard for more gun control, especially in the wake of the Parkland shooting.
The only people pushing are all the leftists who moved from the NE states and brought their politics with them.

It would be nice, but, we have a problem in Florida, there are a large number of so called "Republicans" that would work hard in preventing this bill from becoming law. Among those is this woman by the name of Anicete Flores, a supposedly Republican, that was instrument in preventing the bill that would have authorized citizens to carry in the Universities and open carrying in the state. There are a lot of RINOS in our state congress.
FLORIDA CONSTITUTION
ARTICLE 1, DECLARATION OF RIGHTS
SECTION 8
Right to bear arms.—(a) The right of the people to keep and bear arms in defense of themselves and of the lawful authority of the state shall not be infringed, except that the manner of bearing arms may be regulated by law.
(b) There shall be a mandatory period of three days, excluding weekends and legal holidays, between the purchase and delivery at retail of any handgun. For the purposes of this section, “purchase” means the transfer of money or other valuable consideration to the retailer, and “handgun” means a firearm capable of being carried and used by one hand, such as a pistol or revolver. Holders of a concealed weapon permit as prescribed in Florida law shall not be subject to the provisions of this paragraph.
(c) The legislature shall enact legislation implementing subsection (b) of this section, effective no later than December 31, 1991, which shall provide that anyone violating the provisions of subsection (b) shall be guilty of a felony.
(d) This restriction shall not apply to a trade in of another handgun

IMHO, the wording of Section1 (a) only allows the State to determine "the manner of bearing arms"; not that you need State approval (CCW Permit) to carry one. All we should need is the Florida Constitution.

Going to have to start making telephone calls to my Representatives again.
