What is your preference?

Many hunters looking for big game still pack the heavy cal single action pistols as backup to a big bore rifle. They can be fired quickly with some practice.

How many single actions pistols do you own vs the double action version?

Most of us own and shoot the single actions just for fun. They look so cool, like the old cowboy guns. For defense the double actions are the current rage!

You have to ask a lot of gun owners before you find one who can handle the ole single action 45 like "billy the kid!" They used to perform some unbelievable stunts with the single actions but it takes years of practice to spin them on you fingers and shoot them well.

Carried the 1911 in the Army for a few years.
I never did like the fact that I had to cock it.
My .45 ACP (Beretta 8045 Mini Cougar) is double action. Works for me.
