Hit 2 out of 25. Took my sons semi-auto 12 ga. I think i was using the 1st bead on the vent rib. Taking my mossberg next time. I did get a sponsor though for a gun club i been wanting to join. So that is a plus.

Bet it was fun though!
Yes and the weather was great today. I watched them shoot sporting clays after. Gonna give that a try too,

I'd probably get beat up pretty good shooting a 12 gauge.
The one guy who is the best shot uses a 28 ga. Very impressive to watch him. He loads all his own ammo.

Many man y years ago I did trap for a while, did fairly good (IMHO). I got 25/25 once but I was usually about 23/25. I had a beauty. Remington 1100 trap, scrolled with a monty-carlo stock. It was my first gun back in late 60's, maybe 1970.

My shoulder could not handle a shotgun today.

Sporting clays is great. I use a 20 ga and average 70 out of 100. I seem to do best when I’m with my hunting buddy, Paul. We never mention it be it’s definitely a competition.
Shot a registered sporting tournament yesterday. HOT only begins to describe the weather - 95, heat index of 104, no breeze and 100% humidity. That affected my score a LOT unfortunately and yet I only finished 2 birds behind first for my class.

If you want to break more than 2/25 - STOP LOOKING AT THAT DAMN BEAD! You are not shooting a rifle, you are POINTING a shotgun. If you have to scrunch yourself to the stock to make things work, your gun does not fit and you need to get one that does, or get an adjustable stock to make it fit properly. Once you do that, you should see your scores jump dramatically.

Someone was telling me Elysburg gun club is adding more trap ranges spending like 4 million on the deal. It's state owned anymore the only thing the original club owns is the bar/ club house. The new clays area is going where the rifle range is. Doubt ill be renewing my member ship there. Cant use the rifle range much in the summer as it is. It's always close for events.
