There should be a model stamped on it such as "Series 12, or Series 15" it looks like an earlier series 12. Dan Wesson built some good solid revolvers.

That's a really nice example of a really nice revolver! The .357CTG just means .357 cartridge.

I believe without showing a model number, this is probably a model 14. I believe the 14 was the only one that did not have the model printed on it.

My father gave me this firearm.. he said he bought it over 40years ago.. never been fired in storage all this time.. I just didn't know what year it was produced or what kind of value it may have..
Your revolver is a Model 15-2 4" heavy barrel and a very nice example. I bought a nice 15-2 V6(vented 6" ) last year for $400 and considered it a very good deal. Mine is serial number 318xxx and 1981 production so you're is probably 1980-81 but I'll look it up.
