There's really nothing worse than neighbors ratting out neighbors. But that's what Democrats are urging citizens to do across the country. And more often than not innocent Americans are getting caught in the crosshairs.

Sheila Perez Smith tells the Todd Starnes Show that she was stunned when the police showed up at her home near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Mrs. Smith's 7-year-old son had just completed a zoom class from the den of their home when she received an urgent email from her son's first grade teacher.

It just so happened that the little boy had recently been gifted a toy gun and the child had placed his "new favorite thing" on the table next to the computer.

"Another parent had been very uncomfortable by the fact that the gun had been in view of the zoom call," Mrs. Smith said on my radio show. "It's such an innocent thing that someone used to make a judgment and an accusation."

A few hours after they received the email, there was a knock at the front door. It was the police.

"The police officer came to our door right after breakfast and asked us to step outside of our home as a result of the zoom call," she told me.

Mrs. Smith's husband tried to explain to the officer that there were no guns in the house - other than the toy gun that their son had received.

"He essentially lectured us on child safety and the fact that our children are too young to interact with any guns and weapons," she said.

The officer said it did not matter that it was a toy gun and he continued to lecture the couple.

"I said, this is a toy. No one is unsafe in our home. Everyone is safe and well and healthy," she said. "They took it very seriously as if there was some sort of chance we had weapons in the home."

Mrs. Smith said her children were terrified by the police visit.

"They were scared their parents were going to go to jail that day for something that was completely untrue," she said.

The family was not cited and there were no follow up visits from authorities, but they were definitely shaken by the ordeal.

"What really troubled me was the fact that someone made a claim, an accusation with zero facts," she said. "It was completely bogus and it left our kids really scared."

Life is returning to normal for the Smith family, but they have made one important decision regarding education.

"We opted out of zoom calls," she said.

The German government perfected the process of snitching on neighbors during the 1920s and 1930s - leading up to World World II. It's horrifying to imagine that such tendencies might exist in modern day America.

MYOB folks.😠😠

I’d have a few choice words for the cops, the teacher and what ever parent was calling in with their concerns. I’d probably start the next call cleaning my AR, in the background, behind the kid while they were in their zoom class. I’d be looking at home schooling or private school ASAP!

Sheeesh, what is wrong with people nowadays? They should have had the gun properly stored in a safe and the nerf ammo stored separately in case anyone were to access it by accident. Hopefully they learned their lesson.........

People just need to mind their own business
Agreed! But such thing is not in the playbook of the Socialist elite. In Communist - Socialist states, watching what you neighbor does has been develop into an art form, they use the "traveling companions" to do the dirty work of keeping the neighbors in line.
Other states were such behavior was common, was in Nazi Germany, and the old Soviet Union and still being practiced in places like North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, China, all Socialist - Communist dictatorships.

It's happening more and more; and those police who participate are the enemy of the people.
And if We The People, do not do something about it, you can expect for it to get worse. The extreme Socialist DemocRATS in this country are flexing their muscles and practicing for when they would not have to use a virus as an excuse to install extreme control orders.

In Michigan we are seeing what we can expect if the DemocRATS gain full control of the government, another place like NJ were you can not go out on your boat with the family if that means you there are more than 2 people on the boat, it does not matters that such family leaves together at home.

In this coming November we need to go out and VOTE in force, or be condemned to live under a Socialist dictatorship.

Pretty much.
In Texas, they can knock on my door to investigate anytime they want. But for something like that, " Have I committed a crime? Am I being investigated for a crime that has been committed? Am I under arrest or officially detained? I want an attorney and/or you can leave now.".
Having to listen to a moral rant is abuse of official authority. And is a crime in Texas.

A long story made short but I was in a store and while in there I got a parking ticket. I got the ticket waiting for the store employees to bring out the item I jus bought that took 45 minutes for them to bring out. So I went back into the store and demanded that I see the manager and tell him to stick the item or pay my ticket. Next thing I know there’s two cops standing right next to me. I said a few foul words to the manager and the cops told me I shouldn’t say things like that in front of my kids. ( 5&7 ) it was then I told them to never tell me how to speak in front on MY kids! To which they said I better shut up or they were going to take me in. I said on what charge? “Oh we have lots of them.” I said “ whoa, I’m scared” but I did shut up and I had to pay the ticket. I also told the manager to refund my money and I’d buy it elsewhere. I never went back to that store. The kids thought it was so much fun! Lol.

Stamps6, your, like me, are getting into a boiling point about the abuses of the power hungry politicians and those in the police community who also feel empowered by what is going on.
I am a peaceful individual, it is not in nature to get angry at people, I realized the everyone has defects and I am willing to overlook them, but, I do not have to stand there and listen to a so-called police officer in a power trip on how to rise my kids.
We need to get rid of those power hungry politicians or we well be in trouble when the next emergency rolls around.
