Class 3 firearms questions

So ive recently been considering picking up a class 3 firearm and have been looking at a couple of options. So far however after researching the process for purchasing a class 3 firearm I'm still left with even more questions than from which I started. For starters so far the only place I know to even find a place to sell a class 3 firearm thats capable of being in civilian hands is the Rock Island Auction company and auctions were never really my thing. Is there even any other place to buy class 3 firearms? Also what about ammunition? if you purchase some machine gun such as a automatic AK-47 or something ammunition is super easy to find but if you buy a class 3 firearm that isnt a machine gun like the old field guns I see on RIA's website where do you even buy ammo like that? Because I have yet to see a gun store stock 25mm Flak shells or something like that. Since purchasing a class 3 firearm is kind of a big purchase id rather have all the information first.

First post and you're asking about where to buy Title II weapons? Try Google; LOTS of LEGAL places - once you do the paperwork

You have a LOT more research to do. I suggest you do so so you stay legal.

I don't think you can just buy live ammo if it's over 50cal which is why you won't see it at most gun stores. Pretty sure it's treated the same way NFA weapons are.

Class III not an issue if all paper work filed/filled out and appropriate tax stamps are acquired. Your researching from TO many areas if it aint BTAF stay away from it many try and make it confusing so you give up. Best I`ll throw find a CLASS III Dealer they will gladly walk you through a majority of the red tape.

Heck the little gun shop i deal with is a class 3 dealer. He only stocks silencers for now. (He needs a bigger store) You walk in there he has stuff stacked up in places.

Any auction house that sells firearms will deal with Class III. When they get to these types, they usually stop and explain all the necessary things bidders must have in order to bid. Use the web, there are forums like this one for Class III users.

gunbroker.com..........go to advanced search.....class 3 firearms......take your pick........then locate a dealer that will accept the transfer.......

as far as the paperwork involved between the dealers and your required paperwork.....i would imagine they could walk you thru what steps are required and what is needed.

And be prepared to wait about 8 months for the seal of approval, aka Tax Stamp
