Celebrities beg electors to be ?heroes? and vote against Trump | New York Post

Celebrities are teaming up to beg Republicans in the Electoral College to vote against President-elect Donald Trump, pledging their “respect” for potential “heroes.”

A slew of other has-been and B- or C-list celebs have piled on, calling for 37 “conscientious Republican electors” to swing the Dec. 19 Electoral College vote away from Trump. The Republican is expected to win 306 votes — more than the 270 necessary to win — based on the results from last month’s general election.

“Republican members of the Electoral College, this message is for you,” begins a preachy Martin Sheen. “As you know, our Founding Fathers built the Electoral College to safeguard the American people from the dangers of a demagogue and to ensure that the presidency only goes to someone who is to an ’eminent degree and down with the requisite qualifications.'”

“I’m not asking you to vote for Hillary Clinton,” some in the video say — just don’t vote for Trump.

“As you know, the Constitution gives electors the right to vote for any eligible person,” a celeb in the video states.

Sheen, who played the president in the hit series “The West Wing,” whose cast campaigned for Clinton, adds: “Any eligible person — no matter which party they belong to.”

“By voting your conscience, you and other brave Republican electors can give the House of Representatives the option to select a qualified candidate for the presidency,” says Richard Schiff, who played the communications director in that show.

“What is evident is that Donald Trump lacks more than the qualifications to be president. He lacks the necessary stability and clearly the respect for the Constitution of our great nation,” say the celebs.

Sheen pledges that anyone who votes his or her way will go “down in the books as an American hero,” and others say those electors will “have my respect.”

The video, released on YouTube by Unite for America, not only features Sheen and Schiff, but also Debra Messing, James Cromwell, BD Wong, Noah Wyle, Freda Payne, Bob Odenkirk, J. Smith Cameron, Michael Urie, Moby, Mike Farrell, Loretta Swit, Christine Lahti, Steven Pasquale, Dominic Fumusa and Emily Tyra.

:sosp: If they are so worried about the President-elect lacking qualifications to be president, where in the f*** were this people in 2008???? annoyed.gif

These screwballs seriously need to pull their heads out of their rear ends.

Obama clearly lacked any respect for our Constitution IF he felt his "phone and/or pen" would do the trick, especially regarding Illegal Immigration.

Hillary doesn't respect ANY of our laws and finds any American opposed to her as being deplorable.

But if you "celebrities" will PROMISE to leave the country when Trump is sworn in, I PROMISE not to laugh as hard as I do every time you appear on TV to deliver another ad promoting a credit card, delivering an ASPCA message or sound the alarm over some other Liberal Agenda/Global Disaster/Climate Change call-to-arms.

Whether an "A" or "C" list actor or celebrity, they just do not heed the common knowledge that nobody - especially Trump voters - listens to them because, in fact, they have no relevance in our lives. Thank god for TV remotes.

I suppose the Hollywood Global Citizens just can't be satisfied that all 55 Kalifornia Electoral Votes will go to Hillary? So typical of the greed-head Liberals, if they can't "get more", then try to "take away" from others. They will never be convinced of their irrelevance. But then, why should they? The American public places them up there on that valueless "pedestal of popularity".

Let me see, the only actor who I recognized from this list of "celebrities" is Martin Sheen, at one time a fairly good actor, now a have been. In any case any one who takes the advise of people whose trade is lying to you (That is what actors do) needs to have his/her head examine.

The film claims that
Trump is not qualified - Hilary may have 30 years experience in politics, but she most definitely do not know how to apply such experience, therefore she is not qualified.
Trump lacks morals - Hilary has morals? Since when?
Trump is unfit - What Hilary is fit for is to go to jail for all the times she had violated federal law.
Trump lacks stability - Hilary has the stability provided by a bunch of lies.

The film is a desperate effort by the lefty Hollywood elite to attempt to circumvent the will of the people of the USA. Just like the effort being made by the lefty media together with the DemocRat elite in pushing their story about the Russian hackers.

A bevy of Hollywood celebrities and others famous for being well-known, actors who get paid handsomely for pretending on film they are somebody they’re not while reciting words written for them by others, now seek to impose their will on the American electorate. These celebrities seek to disenfranchise US voters.

Seek? All evidence thus far from years of these antics indicates that "sought-after goal has been attained".

The meeting of the electors takes place on the first Monday after the second Wednesday in December after the presidential election. The electors meet in their respective states, where they cast their votes for President and Vice President on separate ballots. Your state’s electors’ votes are recorded on a “Certificate of Vote,” which is prepared at the meeting by the electors. Your state’s Certificates of Votes are sent to the Congress and the National Archives as part of the official records of the presidential election.

" Trump defeated Hillary."

"Nope not yet,........"

We'll find out Monday.

Meanwhile, I watched an interesting, but mostly entertaining, discussion on FOX News between Tucker Carlson and ex-Mash actor Mike Farrel, the "forever activist". Delusional, as always, and trying to assume impossible and hypocritical moral high-ground.He belabored the point that Trump is not qualified if for any reason because he has no government experience, no elected leadership experience and, remarkably, no organizational management experience related to government, etc. Yet he was obviously a fawning worshiper of the Chosen One back in 2008 who lacked what exactly? And 8 years later has produced what?

Just another exercise by a celebrity Mook to get TV face-time and be put on record. He'll be a hit tonight at his tony neighborhood wine & cheese bar.
