CCI Velocitor

I got some of these the other day and tried them in my CZ 455. For those not yet familiar with them, they are .22 LR, 40 go copper plated hollow points that are advertised at a velocity of 1435. I thought they might be sorta nice since they should remain supersonic to 100 yards. Possibly they might be an effective cartridge at longer range without the instability from dropping into subsonic speed and not have the pedestrian velocity of most target loads and standard velocity .22 LR.

I shot them at 100 yards and they were okay, but I actually got better groups from Federal Range Pack ammo. For my CZ, it was not real impressive, maybe try em in my 10/22 one of these days and see how they perform. The Velocitors were giving a 1.5” group at 100; Federal Range Pack was 1.25; RWS was .75...yeah, they make me smile! Funny, but CCI Standard Velocity was not quite as good as the Federal. Not sure why, but the CZ loves that cheap ammo.

Anybody else tried those Velocitors?

Tried them for small game hunting. Found Mini-Mags to be more accurate and just as effective.

My 10/22 has always done well with mini-mags. I have shot a few through the CZ, and they would be just dandy for most small critters with it too.
