Former Rep. Beto Rourke said Sunday that the mass shooting in his home town of El Paso was a "consequence and cost" of President Donald Trump.

“It wasn't until that moment that I truly understood how critical this moment is and the real consequence and cost of Donald Trump,” O’Rourke said on NBC's “Meet the Press“ on Sunday.

“There is a concerted, organized attack against immigrants, against people of color, against those who do not look like or pray like or love like the majority in this country,” O’Rourke added, also referencing the recent Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids in Mississippi that ensnared nearly 700 undocumented workers. “And this moment will define us one way or another. And if we do not wake up to it, I am convinced that we'll lose America, this country, in our sleep. And we cannot allow that to happen.“

“It wasn't until that moment that I truly understood how critical this moment is and the real consequence and cost of Donald Trump,” Beto O’Rourke said on NBC's “Meet the Press“ on Sunday. Although the El Paso gunman said he was not influenced by Trump, his writings reflect the president’s claims of a so-called “invasion” of the United States.

O’Rourke echoed the call by many Democrats to ban assault-style weapons, including the semiautomatic version of an AK-47 used in the El Paso shooting. O’Rourke called it a “weapon of war … that no American should own, unless they are on a battlefield, engaged with the enemy.”

Could someone close to him, someone he might trust, tell him and convince him that his "Man of La Mancha quest" is over? Perhaps he could embark on a national tour of America's skateboard parks. Document the journey and offer it for public viewing in say, about a year?

he he doesn’t understand that we are at the very edge if not actually at war. It’s a war for this country and the beliefs and values that made this the greatest nation on earth. It’s people like him that want to usher in people who want this country to become a third world sh##hole like the one they came from. To fundamentally change this country into a desert with mud huts and the greatest part of the population working their asses off to carry the rest of it.

He, and other democrats, fully understand that we are at the very edge of, if not actually engaged in, civil war. They started it. This is why the strive so hard to disarm those whom they view as enemies (us).

I heard a jernalist yesterday on cable news get a bit confused and call the rifle he was reporting on an AK-15. Probably the most successful and least seen hybrid Ass Alt Ryfle in existence. Beto probably knows all about those AK-15's.

I was watching ABC news tonight, just because it's after my local news. They were reporting on the white supremest they recently arrested. They showed his cache of assault style rifles and ammunition. They were talking about banning guns, not once did they say "assault weapon", they said "semiautomatic". You guys predicted it. It's not about assault style weapons anymore, it's semiautomatic.

They feel like they have the "assault weapon" ban in the bag. Now they're ratcheting it up. When the negotiations and compromise end, some gun owners will be happy to settle for assault weapons if only they won't take all of the semi-automatics. Now the left feels like they have something to offer at the negotiation table: semi-automatics.

"Beto's" Moment of Clarity and RevelationWhen I read this post. I thought he went back to New Mexico to eat some more of that mystical dirt.
I am ashamed to call him a Texan.
I hope this loser doesn't try to run for the house or senate when his presidential joke of a campaign crashes and burns.
Sadly there are plenty here who will vote for him with all that out of state money

Yet this joker almost beat Ted Cruz on the senate race. How it is possible that the good people of Texas voted for this POS?

The GOOD People of Texas DID NOT vote for Beto. Just like the GOOD People of California DID NOT vote for Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown or the current Mook governor Gavin "Twit" Newsome.

Good people DO NOT VOTE FOR today's DEMOCRATS. Period. Bad, idiotic and stoopid people choose DEMOCRATS.

America's "culture" has changed. We are not the United States of America as we saw ourselves in the 1950's or 1960's, even the 1970's. The Leftists, Socialists, Communists, Progressives and all the other "ists" have been preaching the paths of "least resistance" and the "easy way" for all those years and taken over our schools and universities and media. And far too many children back then chose the "easy way" and are now parents and their kids are following in their paths. America's culture has changed.

And not necessarily for the good.

But don't fear. "Leaders", like Beto, will step up and show us the way.

I often wonder what sort of compartmentalization is going on is these peoples' heads. Does he believe his own BS? Or is he simply comfortable trying to control thousands for some nefarious reason?

In many cases (AOC) I feel like they believe their own BS, and those are the ones that scare me.
