Bad seller

A couple weeks ago I bid on a set of Williams Firesights for my G2C. Bidding started at $9.99 + $4 shipping. They are $40 sights. I was the only bidder. So today is the close of the delivery window, it was never shipped. I sent a message to the seller this morning. Within an hour, he refunded my money with no explanation. In business, sometimes you have to eat one. This seller is dishonest and a cheat, so I am sharing my experience.

Did you leave feedback?
Yes, the first and only negative feed back I've ever left. I just got off the phone with eBay raising holy hell. Hopefully they'll put some heat on him.
Looked at the 6 negative responses on your link and most of them are for the same thing.
Canceled order sent money back did not like selling price.
I will put him on my no buy list, thanks

If he has that many then Ebay should do something about it as an auction is a legally binding contract.

You got through to ebay on the phone? I had an auction cancelled a couple of months ago and called twice. Took me forever to find hte number and get through to someone. Both times they were Indian and said my auctions were cancelled because they don't allow gun parts. I was like what? You literally have 10's of thousands of auctions in gun parts categories set up by ebay. I was told if i listed it again i would be banned. No illegal items were listed per ebay and federal rules/laws.
I clicked the "Call me back" link. Thirty seconds, my phone barked. First she said buy from a different seller. I told her I bid on his auction, not someone else, I got "upset", but I was firm and clear, he has an obligation to honor the sale. I kept asking why he's allowed to sell on eBay, if he's not honoring the sales he makes. She eventually changed her tune, thanked me for being concerned about how business is conducted on eBay, and said "We'll take care of it". I think a supervisor might have listened in. All I know is I made my point loud and clear. Maybe they were just feeding me bs.
I sent him this message when he canceled.

That's what I thought. That is no way to do business buddy. Every gun forum I can find is going to know how dishonest you are. Congratulations, you're getting my first and only negative feedback.

Just curious, when ebay called you back did you get someone on the phone closer than 8,000 miles away? I've never seen the call me back link, I'll have to look for that.
When you click on the contact link, there are two option, call them or call me back. I don't think she was in this hemisphere, her English was good, but she sounded Indian.
A lot of ebay sellers are drop shipping through amazon too. I been getting a lot of stuff coming from amazon. I don't know how they are making money. The stuff i bought i find it on amazon and it's not much less. And ebay charges 10% final value fee. I just got this to keep in the car for when im out shooting. I paid 30.54 on ebay. So it cost the seller 3.06 plus paypal fees. https://www.amazon.com/Wheeler-Engineering-Gunsmithing-Screwdriver-Construction/dp/B07NDFW974. I need to start searching amazon 1st before buying on ebay though.
I've been burned on Ebay enough times that they are generally the last place I'd go to buy anything.

If you're the winning bidder and they refuse to ship and refund your money it's a disappointment not a rip off. Ding them on the feedback log your complaints with ebay and move on. I look at feedback and even if it's something I want and think I can get a good deal I move on if the feedback isn't stellar. It's not a store it's just a service to facilitate getting buyers and sellers together.

I refuse to buy from eBay after I ordered a US made Craftsman 1/2 inch ratchet and it was shipped in a paper envelope. The envelope arrived empty with a big hole in it where the ratchet was either taken or fell out. The seller refused to refund the price and so did ebay because the shipping receipt said the parcel was delivered - even though it was an empty envelope that was delivered.

All my appeals and photos, etc. did nothing at all for my cause.

It could be just the same seller to advertising their stuff on both places. Very common now. i don't know what Amazon charges as I've never sold on there but ebay is getting ridiculous. Unless you get free listings, free final value fees etc it's not worth it by the time you pay the list fee, final value fee, they even charge a final value fee on what you charge for shipping and then the PP fees. Selling small inexpensive items almost isn't worth the trouble anymore unless you get them for free.
