Got a day to myself while the wife and boys are out of town at a family reunion. Thought I’d work on this room since I hadn’t had time lately.
think I got the lighting situation figured out. 4’ strip lights, 4000 kelvin 2800 lumens. Got some light link cords on order so those cords in the pics won’t be there. Issue with this room is that you can’t get it bright enough without blinding you. The black sucks the light out of the room. This way, the guns are lit and you can stand to be in there.
Used aluminum tape along one side of the strip lights to shield you from the bright lights. That redirects the light to the wall like the inside of a flashlight does. The whole thing will be boxed in so you won’t be able to see the lights or cords at all, just the shadow box effect. It’s very pleasant to stand in there now without the center of the room lit. Can always turn on the ceiling fan light if needed.
Next, I’ll put an outlet at the top of the wall, take some 12/2 wire up under the pegboard and wire to the light switch. Then it’s on to moving guns down the wall to make room for more 1911s.
