I was taught from an early age that if you point a weapon at anything, pull the trigger. Just common sense as to why you pointed in the first place.

However you comprehend the circumstances and situation you find yourself in, do not forget yourself. Remember, "a man's got to know his limitations."

"Good self-defense is the art of knowing how to avoid a fight." I think that was Bruce Lee or Massad Ayoub, or Bruce Jenner, or somebody.

If people would concentrate half as much upon their situation awareness as they do equipment and "shoehorn scenarios", there would be very few
confrontations, indeed.

Ain't it the truth ? Give a civilian just a CCW permit, they're raring to go, but train a cop, uniform him, give him transportation,
full benefits, a police union, and more equipment than it takes to invade a nation, and when the SHTF, they're ​hiding behind a wall ?

With all current political climate change, I say, F* it!
I am not a sworn officer, so I don't have any legal or moral obligations to protect others.
I hope you see the difference.
In my state left-wing majority approve more and more gun restrictions, make law-abiding gun owners highly unwanted.
Therefore, I just let them enjoy the results of their victory.

I disagree. All humans have a moral obligation to protect others. They don't have an obligation to run into the gunfire like so many police (not all, I admit) will do but there is a moral obligation to fight for the good of all against the evil of the few.

Well unless the shooter is near you in which case you would be protecting yourself wouldn't saving others entail running into gun fire? I have no idea what i would do in a situation but I'm damn sure going to try and save myself or whoever is with me. Possibly others if i felt i had a chance but until someone is faced with a situation no one really knows how they will act no matter how they feel, think or what they type on the internet. Now if you're trained and paid to do that job then you do it, that's what you're supposed to do.

I agree it is good. I would defend my family for sure. It would depend on the situation otherwise. Im not sure what our states laws are on defending others. I need to go to a US law shield seminar for a refresher.
