another Walmart incident........stopped

1595 Views 11 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  Wag
in a nutshell........a person is reported to had entered a walmart wearing a rifle and wearing body armor. He was detained by an armed citizen.

the "body armor" looks like nothing more than a tactical vest.....but body armor sounds better in the news byte. The news sources continously refer to the citizen whom stopped the suspect as an armed fireman........which makes it sound like a fireman is someone more official who can carry and is more qualified than others.

now....was this suspect going to go into a shooting spree? or was he trying to make some kind of non-shooting statement by pulling this stunt? i imagine more will follow.

anyways....here is one version w/video... https://abcnews.go.com/US/man-detai...walmart-armed-rifle-wearing/story?id=64870120

I don't care make an example out of him.
Sometimes I think theses dumb butts do it just to further the gun grabbers.
Keep the population in fear so they will demand new gun laws.

I also find it interesting the ABC News article makes no mention that Missouri is a Constitutional Carry state (https://www.usconcealedcarry.com/resources/ccw_reciprocity_map/mo-gun-laws/) allowing both open and concealed carry without a permit (unless local laws supercede the state).

His only CRIME is terrorizing the public. The laws were on his side in doing this act---up until the RECENT shootings which put everyone's fear up front. You can't fix stupid.

It's not illegal to own and wear body armor and to carry weapons openly in most States. Just look at the number of kids back packs with body armor being sold.

If you go through life being afraid, you will never experience life as it was intended and just be a shut in.

The Boy Scouts and the Army taught me the best life choices anyone can make---BE PREPARED--ADAPT--OVERCOME.

You just can't have life both ways when it comes to laws and justice. You have to choose what you want and stick to your guns on them. NEVER SURRENDER to tyranny or bypassing the law.

The ONLY way to make changes in the laws right NOW is to VOTE for someone who will do as THE PEOPLE want before we become a Socialist Nation of serfs.

i am thinking this was his own publicity stunt.....in an open carry State. But as mentioned, his actions,to prove whatever point, now is headline news that is very favorable for gun control.......

i suspect wally-world will soon have a prohibition on carry weapons policy for the public.....and may institute a policy of armed security......maybe.

I get it. It is not illegal to be stupid.
Too bad common sense is so uncommon.
Until things settle down, just wish folks would use a little more of it. Legal or not.
We will never win over the gun grabbers, but the independent voters who do influence elections as the left and right are about equal in numbers.
We do need to show them that we law abiding gun owners are mindful and not a bunch of Rambos.
The optics are bad.

I agree, it is completely legal to want government to take away the rights of law abiding citizens. Those that think this is the solution are blithering idiots, but they can't be locked up for it.

As far as this guy, did he shoot anybody? What laws did he break? Did anybody else shoot anybody while he was there? OCT(Open Carry Texas) carried long guns into businesses with permission. In any of the hundreds of events that OCT put on there was no felony crime by members of the group, or anybody else around them. Hmmmmmmm
the tv news tonight states that the suspect has been charged with a terrorist threat in violating the State open carry law...........i imagine we will get something more substantial in print in a day or two....

even if this guy is acquitted........i suspect a very, very large anti-gun backlash to possibly follow......and as mentioned, a many a independent voter may be impacted in many ways....

the positive influence is a concealed carrier detaining the suspect......a huge plus for the pro gun argument about someone carrying and stopping a threat.....despite the media's attempt to minimalize it...

the negative will be an open long gun carrier alarming the public...very bad timing........in a very particular location the public relates to and the public is plenty spooked during a time sensitive media cycle.....and the media will maximize that.

afraid the negative will out-weight any positive on this with the independents and more than a few fudds......and this crapola does not only impact Missouri.....it will impact all of the States........

Supposedly, this 20 year old young man was upset that WalMart would not sell him ammunition until he was 21 years old but has no problem with him carrying a loaded handgun while in their store. His means of protest were poorly thought out, impulsive and stupid. But criminal? I think not.

and a bit more........ https://www.foxnews.com/us/suspect-...-was-testing-2nd-amendment-rights-prosecutors

after reading the missouri law.......i do believe they just might have pc to arrest.....

the guy is coming across as a mall ninja, wanting to "test" wally-world on the 2a.......well, he tested them.....now he can study the results.....

he apparently had a problem with corporate policy and even though he knew the policy on ammo......he just felt compelled apparently to push.......and the results was this.........

i have tried to give this some thought.......what would had my response been? I am not alarmed to see the rare.....very rare oc citizen in a store......around here its usually a 1911.

But if i was in wally-world and observed a guy walk in wearing a tactical vest loaded up along with a black rifle at the low/ready and a handgun on his hip......most likely myself and everyone else is going to give a wide berth and leave and there would be some 911 calls.

it may be "legal"...but so is walking around wearing nothing but a jock strap and nothing else....it is unusual, out of the ordinary, suspicious.....and will generate 911 calls.......

folks around here are spooked about the el paso incident.......that is not a "fault" in their views or thinking....and if everyone exits wallmart and decides to shop elsewhere then so be it.

this is going to be an interesting case.....and he made it a test case.......literally a clash between oc law and criminal law. Also throw in those pesky black rifles, high cap mags, body armor, the news media, the screaming democrat candidates, and a literally shell-shocked public about the recent shootings.....as demonstrated by the public's reaction at this wally-world.

all because the guy wanted to test wallyworld and was upset about ammo sale policy............
