I knew I had another thread on 45 Colt. A comparison with Missouri Bullets at brinell 12…

I did load some of these 45 Colt 250gr coated cast.

Unique 9.0gr = 1000-1020 fps (using)
Unique 9.3gr = 1020-1050 fps

Judging by what I’m seeing, they are performing on par with the copper plated for speed. Leading will be something I’ll determine after I’ve shot a few.
So, it doesn’t appear that the hardness of the bullets are making a huge difference. When those loads were created, I was only shooting from a pair of Ruger Bisleys and a Bond Derringer. I’m more comfortable at 8.0gr now than I was.

I either have a tighter bore or the load data is not accurate in the velocity.

Tested 6.0gr of TiteGroup with the 10” Uberti and the 20” Henry. This is the most stable load I think I’ve ever fired from a 20” Henry.

From the Uberti
862
892
879

From the Henry
1000
993
997

I am going to use this load for the 250gr hard cast. No noticeable leading from any of the test shots so far.
