38's, K-38, 25 yards

I loaded about 500 of these over the last few days and got something I went to the final step with and tested these in my S&W K38 today.
Red Dot middling powder charge for 38 special. Federal SPP. Now the powder wouldn't have been my first choice but it WAS what I had so... the BULLETS were even worse. 158 grain SWC, but they were recycled pulled for some reason, some where and honestly I never noticed when I bought them at the auction. They just went "SUPER CHEAP! plain lead cost that much?" But I loaded 20 and shot them so I tried a couple hundred more...

Ran them through the chronograph today with the K38 and these are my first 6 shots from 25 yards. To be honest I was more concerned about "Don't hit the chrony..." than the group until I went up and looked.

Same here for target loads.
I like the 158 part. I was just hesitant to use bullets that had all been loaded once and then pulled using side cuts and were all mangled, abuse, old, and dented up. You really couldn't imagine actually shooting them, UNTIL I tried 'em. Even then I was amazed at how well they shot. I'll have to take some pictures of some sample of those.

After shooting these mangled bullets and still getting good results, I like them too!

In fact I've been burning though those two batches I loaded a little hot, shooting them in my 357, and truth is I REALLY like those! I'm going to load up a few HOT ones in 357 soon as I use these up and try them out.
