Default what are "friends" exactly on the forum?

Title says it. What does it mean when someone wants to 'friend' you on the forum?
I'm not unfriendly, but you might say I am 'e-cautious'.

It's the same when someone wants to 'friend" you on facebook. I look at it as more of a symbolic gesture. Its always good to be cautious but most friending doesn't involve more than you've already invested or divulged.

I would not say it is the same as FB only because FB friends changes what you are able to see.

On NGF is is just a friendly gesture and does not effect anything else. So there is nothing to be scared of by friending someone..

Take it as a compliment. it means someone likes what you have to say enough to want to be friends with you.
