I would have to check things closer but the one thing i know where the difference is NY and CA have different rules on a fixed mag. In CA a fixed mag can be removed by breaking the gun open and removing a screw or something quick and easy like that. In NY the ones they have have a different mag release button with a tiny screw on each side of the center hole that are screwed in that don't allow the mag release button to be pushed and to make in NY legal where it's permanent the screws are epoxied over. NY has the word permanent used in several places concerning the gun mods even though nothing is technically permanent. and example would be that threaded barrels on semi's with removable mags are illegal so you could cut the threads off(if the barrel is long enough) or weld a thread protector on which is considered permanent. New threads could be cut at any time or the welds ground off and thread protector removed so it's technically not "permanent".
And armed man is a free man, a disarmed man is a slave.

I went ahead and paid off the 3rd one I had on layaway. I really could have used that $600 toward my 500 mag but what the hell. I know if I don’t, I’ll never find another. That just pushed off replacing the 500 several more months. It could be a while.

The guy behind the counter said there were hundreds ahead of me awaiting approval. Call in a week or 2 to see if the background cleared. I really wish the Supreme Court would quit screwing around. I’ve been through like 40 background checks in 13 months. This has nothing to do with a cooling off period, nothing to do with a background check, its just plain malicious in intent.
