    Default Red Dot Reccomendation

    Hey all,

I'm mildly interested in putting a red dot on my Mossberg 590, but am not all that familiar with red dots and wanted to get some recommendations from those with more knowledge.

The only real requirements I have are a maximum price range of around $150 or so and that it uses AA, AAA, or (preferably) CR123A batteries. Maybe a 9-volt, but I'd prefer to keep it simple.

Saw 1 with a solar panel the other day at LGS. Not sure how it will charge in the safe.

You looking for a red dot sight or laser? I have a laser that came on an AR i'll sell you for much less than than 150. It has a flash light too.

Its a shotgun ... its a point and shoot weapon ... you don't need a laser ... you don't need a red dot . You need to take the $150.00 and spend it on ammo and then practice... the factory sights should serve you just fine.

I got a red dot sight and found that I couldn't stand it. Luckily my LGS took it back (in exchange for store credit). I put a front blade/rear leaf on my 590 and now all is well.

If you're not shooting slugs at deer then what gunzilla said above is your best advice.

A bad day shooting is better than a good day at work.
