    Default My range day

Went to the range today and put 175 rounds through my XDS 4.0 9mm, now up to 225 total rounds woohoo. I only had one misfire from the box of PMC Bronze. Over all I feel that I did pretty well considering this is only my 4th or 5th time going to the range. I don't know what kind of ammo you guys use but I purchased an assortment from ammunitiondepot.com, they have some pretty good prices from the research I've done thus far. Here are a few pics from the day.

Sounds like it`s getting broken in. Thats pretty good shooting. I like Blazer Brass, Hornady and even American Eagle but PMC, well, the jury is still out on PMC.

That's pretty nice shooting, what distance?

I just buy whatever 9mm I can get cheapest, it all works the same. I am now avoiding anything non-brass cased though, as I once had a FTF with steel cased TulAmmo. I'm trying to shoot all that stuff off first and then stick with brass cased. When I bought it it was cheap, but everything 9mm is $15/50 now, sometimes a little less. I got some Sellier & Bellot for £12.95/50 recently at Baker's Boots & Clothing, but my 9mm stocks are ample and the supply and price are stable at the moment so i only bought a few boxes.

i generally shoot from 5-7 yards, I'll take the target back to 10 yards for a clip or two. I figure if I'm going to have to defend myself or my family, odds are they will be closer rather than farther.

When I first started shooting, a buddy of mine advised me not to use the steel cased stuff and stick with brass. I was able to pick up the Blazer and PMC for $14.xx/50, by far the cheapest I've found yet.

    Good shooting.

    Nice job! Fun times!

My XDm will shoot any brass I have put through it. Steel case? I have had a few problems with those and will not use them any longer; totally unreliable.
