    Default S&W M&P 9mm 3.1

Hard deal to pass up so I bit the bullet so to speak. I’ve been hesitant to buy a S&W M&P 9mm with all the failure reviews out there but with the $50 rebate it’s hard to pass up. $190 after rebate. I hope this thing doesn’t disappoint. I’m sure I’ll have a review up soon. I have 2 in the queue already.

I opted for this model as I liked the frame better (mainly the grip) than the 2.0. I am hoping the volume of bad reviews is just because there are so many out there in the wild. At minimum, it needs to perform better than the 380 EZ did. That one has had over 300rds, new mag springs and still has issues every other mag. The way my wife handles it, it’s a big disappointment that it’s not reliable enough for EDC. She shoots it like she’s a natural. We will see soon enough if this 9mm does a better job at being reliable. On the other hand, the S&W .22 Compact has performed flawlessly so it’s got a 50/50 shot at impressing me.

    7rd mag

I`d a passed but that is me I got no great aspiration to own another have had 3 gotten rid of all of them. 2 were used and sent back for repairs the 3rd was never fired by me. Now they are a good fire arm I just have had no luck with them. The 3rd might have proven pleasurable just sat in my safe til someone offered what I had in it so I sold it. Traded the other two Got a Hi-Point and a bunch of reloading supplies for 9 mm and Got a Taurus .45 for the other. NOT a REGRET.

Nice looking gun Phil. Hope it's a great one for you. I been hearing a lot about SW issues lately. I hope they get back on track.

Its bad when someone says I traded a S&W for a Hi-Point and no regrets, wow! I placed a second on layaway awaiting my assessment of this one. Cold and raining so no shooting today.

btw, did the initial cleaning, the mags suck.

My brother has bought like 6 S&W pistols. I asked him what he thought, he said he hadn’t shot them yet...

What problems have they been having? I have an original shield i bought about 6 years ago, not even sure how many thousands of rounds through it now. Never had to do anything to it except feed it and clean it.

You'll have to do a search on the issues, they are many. I just ran 15 rounds of the cheapest ammo I have on hand, 7 rds Armscor Precision and 8 rds Winchester Target. Ran flawless on both counts. I will be moving forward with purchasing the second one. only thing left to do is film the range shooting and I can put the video review together. Its still rainy here so I just stepped out the back door and unloaded these. Seems pretty accurate.

We had this out again today and ran about 70 rounds of various manufacturers through it. So far its performing nicely. In fact we ran about 1000 rds through a whole slew of guns, 458 Socom, .223, 300 blackout, .40 S&W, 45 ACP, 4 different 9mm's, 12 ga, .22LR rifles and pistols. I am sure I missed some. It was a good day.

Paid the second one off today. I’ll pick it up Friday afternoon. It’ll be pretty cold out but if the wind is calm I’ll go out and finish the review.

They are both in hand now. I can go shoot the shooting range part of the video now.
