Hopefully he can figure out how to get it out of there so I can send this piece of junk back to them. This is why I prefer not to buy cheap guns.
Out of curiosity, did you clean and lube before shooting the gun?

Because one may be able to handle a specific 45 does not mean they can handle anything. It's something "she" will use, let "her" pick it out.

If the slide it tough, rent a Shield Easy, a Sig 395 or similar. Dang, the LCPII is very easy to use. But it's gonna be hers, let her take her time and pick.

Sound like you're controlling this purchase ("if she has trouble with that then we are moving to a revolver"). Ease up! Is it for you or her?
With all due respect, we got here because the criteria was a color. It’s not that I’m not willing to bend, she has an unwillingness to handle it in the store. If I have to make those decisions, it will be based on what I believe will work best.

she actually turned to me on the way home and said she’d take a teal one.

    Function trumps form. Always.
The difference between a Socialist and a Communist is that the Socialist doesn't have all the guns yet.

Yep, it’s gotta go bang every time you pull the trigger. Gunsmith said he can’t find anything wrong except some rounds drop in the barrel a little further than others due to the bullet shape but the one he pulled out was mangled. I spent some time comparing the slide pull with some bigger named brands. I was hesitant to try a S&W with all the horror stories I’ve heard but thought I’d give it a chance. Picked up a S&W.380 with an easy slide. At $330 it won’t break my heart if it’s a no go. Thinking plinking gun here not necessarily a carry piece. I was able to rack it with my pinky and thumb.

    The problem was the color.

Racking the slide is not about strength. It is all about technique.

I appreciate the article, however, I’ve taught her both methods. I strongly believe it’s an “I can’t” attitude. Been married to her for 18 years. Probably just afraid of it, which is fine, We’ll get past that with a little practice. Meanwhile, I’ll do whatever I can to make it as easy as possible. With a little confidence, I think the problem will cure itself. This is the most to the point review I could find on the replacement I bought.

I believe it is both, technique and strength. In my case, I can try everyone's technique but it still is very difficult.......it comes down to strength in my left hand.

I also bought the model with the thumb safety. Had a choice between the two and thought that a better choice.
