    Default Best AR for $600-800?

I am looking to buy my first AR and I would like to get some expert opinions. Any comments about purchasing a kit on palmetto state armory?

I like PSA. I was warned by someone here not to get the PTAC.

Looks like a good one. You like it? I also forgot to mention I would like to be able to shoot 200-300 yards accurately and I would like to have a grip. So if possible I would like the mounts for accessories such as a grip. If its a good enough deal I really could just get the correct stuff on it to satisfy my needs.

Thanks for the reply! All this will help clear my anxiety about buying one :)

Look for Shooting Ranges or Trainers in your area offering classes for the AR15 or "Modern Sporting Rifles."

They usually last a few hours, are fairly cheap, and will help familiarize you with the rifle, it's parts, and function. Then you will have a good start on at least having some idea of what you want in the right gun.

Yes, I like my AR, but it's the only one I've ever had, so.... I don't know how it would shoot at long range, I don't have long range to shoot! Florida ya know. I knew nothing about AR's. I did some research, asked questions here, bought the kit and went from there. Good luck!

Anyone have experience with the Ruger AR-556? The "official Ruger website" lists them for $799.

^ ^ ^ Ruger doesn't make bad guns so I would think it is a safe bet.

I look at these kits and they remind me of the old Heath Kits for electronic receivers. Looks like fun just to have the involvement of assembly and a great learning process.
It is still a scary thought as to how close we came to having Hillary Clinton as president of the USA.

The assembly is really quite basic, especially if the upper is already done. I didn't want to assemble the upper, that gas system needs to be just right. It might not be a big deal, but I didn't want to be bothered. The assembled uppers are tested, so they are good. My rifle shoots flawlessly, Wolf to Federal, not one hiccup, and I've dumped 30 rnd mags as fast as I could pull the trigger. HOT HOT HOT!

Yours must be broken. According to Bloomberg:

A video of Michael Bloomberg is shown, with Bloomberg saying: “Pistols are different, you have to pull the trigger each time. An assault weapon you basically hold [the trigger] and it goes da-da-da.” (The “da-da-da” was Bloomberg making a machine gun sound with his mouth.)

A video of California state senator Kevin de Leon (D) pushing gun control appears in Targeted as well. The video shows the senator standing in front of cameras, holding a compact semiautomatic rifle, and pushing gun control by saying: “This is a ghost gun. This right here has ability with a 30 caliber clip to disperse with 30 bullets within half a second: 30 magazine clip in half a second.”

Better get yours in for service.
