what's the word on the mossberg 464?

my mossberg experience has been with the old model 472........it looked like a marlin 336 but the trigger moved with the lever like a BLR........

And .45 Colt was not chambered in rifles/carbines until relatively recently.

It has 10,000 safety's on it, and the ammo cycles only when it wants to, IMO its a crappie rifle, it was 329.00 at bass pro and it came with 2 followers shoved in the mag tube, must have been built on a Monday.

Oh, well, you mean Elmer Keith wasn't alive in the Wild West?

I guess I'll just throw my .44 Marlin in the trash, because it's not

You don't want to do that, I have two Marlin model 1894's, .44 magnums, JM stamped, and I would never think of it! I still like to put my Stetson on and take a hike with one and play cowboy. They are great, accurate rifles.[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

There is really nothing wrong with a 44-40 if it is used for what it is supposed to be used for. I am sure it would be an easy task for a machinist to re-barrel most any lever action to the round. With a modern and stronger action and a modern revolver, and loading to moderate velocities, a guy could do okay.

The only problem is, as always, when someone unfamiliar with firearms drops one of those hot tamales into a cylinder of and antique revolver and winds up with a bloody jig-saw puzzle.
