I've had the 783 in .260 win for over a year now. Bought it as a back-up hunting rifle for my R 700 in 30-06.
This rifle out-shoots anything I have and will be my main hunting rifle for this year's Montana hunt (we have deer tags, a cow-elk and antelope, so it will see a good workout). The only thing I don't like about this rifle is the sling-mounts, other than that is a WAY more solid rifle than a Savage or a Ruger (if you ain't picked it up - don't comment) and shoots 3/8" groups at 100 yards
