    The correct firing pin protrusion from the bolt face (for any given rifle) is not a mystery. It is an oft measured and known entity. Get a micrometer and search for the available data. Your search should begin with the rifle's manufacturer.

    Take a fired case and fill the primer indent with clay. Chamber and fire. Check the primer. Take it to a gun shop and ask them to test fire it. Most have a test tank if they work on guns there.

    What exactly did you do to the rifle that you need to test the firing pin anyway?
