    Default AR15 and M16/4 differences

So aside from the missing full-auto firemode, is there any other difference between the AR-15 and the M16/4?

The bolts are different but you can legally buy them. I think they are just made stronger but not really sure.

Some AR-15's are chambered in .223. I doubt M16's are chambered in anything but 5.56.

Not being that interested in the rifles, I'll go out on the proverbial limb and offer conjecture that while the Military Spec M16 has a history of "alterations/modifications" and improvements that brought it to the -A4 and M4 configurations, there were no requirements to alter Civilian AR-15 rifles to keep pace with or maintain near like configuration to the Military Rifle. The differences could be, therefor, numerous and significant.
