Hell I can't see the balloon at 1000, let alone hit it - and that's with a rifle and scope, let alone a revolver

I was thinking the same thing. How does he even see it?

I admit to prejudice before viewing. I was going to identify all kinds of BS and claim "FAKE!"

Had to dump that attitude right away before even seeing the shot because it was Jerry Miculek.

I'm with the rest of you. How in Sam Hill did he even see that balloon?

Hell, everybody knows pistols are only good for 15 or 20 feet. All the gun writer experts, drips under pressure, know that. I get a good laugh every time I read that or see it in some stupid Hollywood time waste.
I'm with you folks. I can see 1,000 yards, big red barns, multistory buildings, but without a good scope no way I'd ever hit anything smaller.
I doubt me and my model 29 could hit anything until it was say 100 yds.

With a 9mm, wouldn’t he have to shoot at a 30 degree angle and lob it in?

Just guessing, Jerry didn't see the balloon, but the steel plate the balloon was attached to. AND the bullet may not have hit the balloon directly, but hit the steel plate, fragmented and at least one of the bullet fragments popped the balloon. Just a thought.

That's exactly what happened but it's still an amazing shot to hit the plate at that distance. Hell, even seeing it is a challenge.

Well, Jerry may shoot good. But he drives like a supertrucker.

Jerry with guns is like Chuck for ...everything else, they both get very lucky sometimes. It could be possible, God knows how many shots it took to get it on that plate but one thing for sure we all know he doesn't pay for his ammo

Edit: after watching the video... does anyone else think the barrel of a 9mm should've been pointing a lot higher to even reach 1000 yards? watching the ride to the plate it looks like it was going upwards all the way

With that angle a good cal. rifle yes, but the 4 or 5 grains or powder of a 9mm...... the sandy hill at best
