he touches on the trigger a little at 2:45

someone else said you can tell the difference by looking at the trigger. The skeletonized trigger is the newer model. I don’t know if there is truth to that or not. I will try to find that video and post it.

I went into the shop and handled one of these today with the short grip and 3” barrel. It was much more comfortable in the hand than I expected. Trigger was very nice compared to the reviews. In fact, the guy behind the counter said he tried to shoot one once and the trigger was garbage. He hadn’t tried one since. Convinced him try it again with the newer model and he admitted it was a whole lot better than it was, nothing like the old trigger.

I've always wanted one of these and yes they are very well built. To me it's hard to justify the cost for what it is, a two shot derringer. One day I'll get one though and hopefully stumble on a good priced used one.

You know that little thing inside your head that keeps you from saying things you shouldn't? Yeah, I don't have one of those.

I have a derringer similar to this one. It shoots .45 Colt or .410. And it's painful to shoot. But it would make a great belly gun.....

I bet it is. I will eventually have all the calibers to try. I say I won’t but I know my OCD will get the best of me. I want a 6” in .357 just because... I like to collect just for the sake of collecting, but I do shoot everything I buy. I won’t spend thousands on a gun just to sit in a safe but I’ll spend $1k on one that I’ll shoot often and have fun with. Some of the reviews are showing pretty small groups with large 410 buck shot. I think someone said it was the equivalent of 3x .38 special rounds hitting all at once @ about 1200fps out of that 4” barrel. I don’t know enough about the ballistics on 410 rounds so I cannot say if that is truth or speculation. Might be painful to shoot but I bet that’ll stop anyone in their tracks, especially with 2 of them.

Well, itís in. Itís been 11 days but the state thinks I need to wait 3 more days before I can take it home. Itís not small by any stretch. Itís exactly the same size are a S&W Shield 9mm. In fact the holster for the shield fits like a glove.

I think that particular law is stupid, we have one too. I can understand when it's your first gun and they call it cool down period but if you already have a few and you were buying it to do something bad, don't they think you would've taken one you already have?

I think it's more a " we want to piss you off" kind of law and one that says "we have control over your right" more than anything

    In 2 words it's a Liberal law

You are nicer than I am about it... You will find a lot of articles that say most guns used in mass shootings were obtained legally. What they don’t tell you is that in the vast majority of cases, they were purchased legally either by someone else, purchased prior to the persons rights to own guns being revoked (and never confiscated) or would have had their rights revoked if people had done their jobs.

An article was published recently that said some 32,000 (if memory serves me) people in Illinois had their FOID cards revoked but were still believed to have possession of their firearms because cops were too busy to verify what happened to the weapons.

Another example, Sutherland Springs, TX in 2017, First Baptist Church. The military had multiple convictions that would have revoked the shooters rights to own a firearm but the military did not report it in the background check.

2018 Santa Fe High School, shooter used his dads gun.... I can do this all day.

I can point you to where the real problems are though. There was an article published (last year I believe) by CNN that had a list of the top 27 deadliest mass shooters, of those 27, 26 came from fatherless homes. That’s a 26 to 1 ratio. It does not take a rocket scientist to see that discipline and basic family values taught to kids at a young age play a massive role in gun violence. Not every parent has control over what happens after a divorce so this isn’t an attack on divorced dads,

You can pass all the freaking gun legislation you want to but the root of the problem lies within the nuclear family. Until self serving, instant gratification takes a back seat to to family values, discipline and responsibility, the problem will continue to grow. Laws like this are made out of ignorance and are nothing more than grandstanding in an attempt at collecting votes. No amount of legislation is going to fix what is broken. Those of us that follow the rules will always be punished for the stupidity of others.
