If you look at Illinois and see the one red county south and west of Chicago virtually surrounded by blue, that is my county - Grundy which went for McCain.

Ya know, that blue looks alot like poison infecting blood... I guess a strengthening of Conservatism will be the antidote.
I went through 3 pages of Google search results and came up blank.

You are right on with the numbers but that only tells part of the tale. We now have the "Chicago White House" not to mention a Governor Blagojevich who does not spend any time in Springfield. Chicago does not even recognize there is a rest of the state so why bother with dealing with them......

well looks like the Republicans need to change thier game. "Real" America does include Latte Sipping college grads, that and Black people. We arent all Redneck, Moose hunting, Joe Six Pack, Farm Hands, SO STOP PANDERING TO THEM!!!!

When I've asked my friends who did they vote for, it's come back Obama which suprises me. I ask "why?" the answer "Palin"

Republicans, STICK TO Non-Social Issues, you have the upper hand in Taxes, gun votes, economics and defense.

No one needs to know that you think god elected you to stop gays from marrying

Actually, blue blood is deoxygenated blood. If you didn't have blue blood in your body it would be a sign of serious, serious problems with your organs and muscles. It would mean your cells aren't capable of transfering oxygen from blood into the body.

Yeah, but there are still a good number of high population red areas.

And that's why it was 52.5% to 47.5% (or some similarly close number).

Not that we actually elect presidents based on % of the popular vote...

Actually, city folk elect presidents, and the rest of us are screwed.

See if you can get your state to go with a Divided electoral system.

To change it to a direct-popular vote would take a Federal Constitutional Amendment. However, if you think that you're not being fairly or adaquettely represented in the Presidential elections, campaign to get your state to adopt a Nebraska/Maine style divided electoral vote. That only requires your state to adopt a different style of voting. And that may take a state-constitutional amendment, but those are still far easier to pass than federal amendments.

After taking another look at that map - am I the only one who noticed that more than just a few counties are shaped differently / completely omitted from one map or the other?
