Default Trump to Looking Crack Down on Homelessness in Calif.

    10 September 2019

President Donald Trump is pushing for a major crackdown on homeless camps in California, as the number of people living on the streets continues to rise rapidly[Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

Trump could invoke the National Emergencies Act of 1976 to declare a national emergency in California and could also invoke the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act of 1988 to accomplish his goal.

The number of homeless people in Los Angeles [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] this year. In Alameda County, which includes Oakland, homelessness increased by 43%. In San Francisco, there was a 17% rise.

Trump has sent top administration officials from the White House, Department of Housing and Urban Development and Domestic Policy Council to California this week for a round of talks.

White House spokesperson Judd Deere told the Post Trump is continuing to look for solutions for homelessness.

“Like many Americans, the president has taken notice of the homelessness crisis, particularly in cities and states where the liberal policies ... are combining to dramatically increase poverty and public health risks," Deere said. “President Trump has directed his team to go further and develop a range of policy options for consideration to deal with this tragedy.”

@popeye Dang Dog, Beat me to it. :-P was going to post this story. along with following comment, also Comment is based on first hand knowledge.

I would like to point out that the dems are not the only one responsible for this homeless crisis in california and around the country. You should be asking who gutted the section 8 housing program. ANd other safety net programs and rehab programs etc. Which is the true primary reason so many of us wind up homeless.

Then turning around few years later and Forcibly Institutionalizing the homeless is morally and ethically wrong. Especially when it was the government budget cutting of safety net programs like section 8 that lead to this issue in the first place. GO SCREW YOURSELF TRUMP , YOUR WRONG.

It was NOT liberal policy that gutted section 8 it was done when republicans had control and was cutting anything and everything they could that did not go to elites.

Section 8 housing creates ghettos. If you didn't work for it. If it was given to you. It is not respected and it is not cared for. Democrat sponsored government programs exacerbate existing problems.

As to the 'homeless problem'. Remove illegal drugs from the equation and the problem is reduced by, at least, 85%. I do not know how to accomplish this.

If free housing and food is the solution to homelessness then I'm going homeless and get some of that free stuff..... NOT.

First thing they should do is grab the guvners "surplus" he keeps bragging about and apply it to the solution, whatever that may, a wall maybe.

Liberal DEMOCRATS - especially those idiots in Kalifornia - think the cure is to build more homes. Make more homes available.

NOTE TO L.A. CITY COUNCIL. They can barely afford and do not maintain the boxes, crates and tarp/tents they have erected already.

So the political Mooks make speeches crying out for "more "affordable" housing". "Affordable housing" in Kalifornia?

This "effing state" is a [email protected]#king asylum!

Watch Trump "possibly" get the homeless off the streets (that is, get them out of sight) in "Santuary Cities" (I'd leave them to stew in their own juices until the voter-mobs took action) and sure as anything, the DEMOCRATS will co-opt the Republicans and claim all the credit. The MSM will support their claim, so why not?

Then they can start debating whether or not these new free homes should have swimming pools.
