Rule of thumb,I wouldn't come close to any animal that can eat me alive, domesticated or not

Here is a picture of my wife and i feeding a baby tiger almost 20 years ago on one of our first dates at a NY fair. it was at a local gun club/conservation booth and you paid 5 bucks to get your pic taken to raise money for their group. As you can see he wasn't very big but you could easily tell how strong he was even with his small size. Obviously very young and tame but i could not imagine the strength of a full grown one. You would stand no chance if they decided you tasted better than the cuddling feels. Real bad pic as it's a printed photo from a scan from a Polaroid that i took a pic with my phone.....
There happened to be another group at the fair that had rescued cats from idiots who think they make good pets. They travel around showing and educating people how bad that is and even worse some of the things done to some of the cats while kept as "pets". My wife got picked out of the audience to hand feed one of the cats they were showing. I think it may have been a Cheetah but after 20 years I'm not certain. She never seen a cat before that and got to feed two in one day.

Can you even imagine what it would feel like having your arm in a lion's jaw and he wants that part so he's trying to break the bone a paw on your face and he's pulling and closing his jaw as tight as he can and all of a sudden you feel a snap *shivers*
That's what I see when I look at the picture up there

I made myself a vow a long time ago... as much as I love horses....I am NOT a horseman so..... I don't ride anything with four legs and a mind of it's own..... and now I vow to not try and pet or cuddle anything that is big enough to make a meal of me. Plain and simple.

Very cool but the rational human in me would pass.
People crushed by laws, have no hope but to evade power. If the laws are their enemies, they will be enemies to the law; and those who have most to hope and nothing to lose will always be dangerous.

Yeah if a full grown one got a hold of you there is nothing you could do. Actually though they don't kill many people, i think hippos kill more people in Africa than big cats. Crocodiles kill a bunch too and I'm sure snakes are high on the list.
I remember reading a story or seeing a movie about a lion back in the late 1800's or early 1900's that killed a whole bunch of people. I forget all the details but i think he would come right into camps of people and drag his dinner away.

You can take the animal out of the wild, but you can't take the wild out of the animal. It's instincts are inbred by nature and that will not change. Only humans have that ability.

That may be true for some and even most but certainly not all.
