Default Heat pump met it's match

I read somewhere that this AC/Heat pump I bought in September would switch to the heat strip at 41 degrees. Can't find it now, but I know I read it. This morning I set it to start about an hour before I got up. My outside reading was 41. The heat pump wasn't running, as far as I can tell the fan was the only thing running, no heat. Maybe they forgot to install the strip? I think I'll call them just for grins.

I'm fine in bed, heat blanket and a radiant heater keeps the room around 60. I figure at 41 that is what the heat pump is for! Reading about air pumps, 20-30 should be fine. When the temp rose to 45, the heat pump worked great. Maybe it shut the heat pump down due to icing on the coils. This unit doesn't have a defrost function.

Just had a chat with Fridgidaire. They want me to reset it and see if it still doesn't heat. Well, I may not see another 41 degree morning.....ever. The next 10 days doesn't predict lower than 49, after that it will be summer, so....

It was 21 degrees this morning. I would have stayed in bed, but the livestock needed fed.

16 this morning in my neck of the Garden State! Oil burner is eating like it’s free. Wen it’s that cold I use about 5 gallons of fuel oil a day. How about some global warming?
