Nestlé wants to increase the fresh water pumped from a North Florida spring by 600% – regardless of the impact to local ecosystems. The move could put area homes at risk for sinkholes. Petition starter and Florida resident Amanda wants to make sure other area communities aren't victimized by corporate greed. Your signature today can help voices like hers reach Gov. Ron DeSantis and the water management officials before they make a final decision.

Nestle wants to renew a permit bought from Seven Springs. Up till now about .2 million/gallons a day is what has been extracted from the facility near Ginnie Springs however the permit already allows up to 1.2 - 1.7 million gallons a day. Now Nestle bought Seven Springs bottling plant and will be seeking renewal.
Resist this permit until we see a financial projection of how much they will need daily as well as a risk assessment of our wetlands or over all health of the state aquifers which supports their volume requests. A large corporation may possibly push the limits of this permit or violate the permit altogether as they have in Tampa, FL and California. We need to slow them down and keep them accountable!
    Potential risks include:
Deterioration of water quality, lowering the water table reducing residential well water supplies, reduction of water to other streams and lakes in the state, destruction of ecosystems and wetlands, loss of support below soils creating sink holes.
Although Nestle will pay Seven Springs for the water they bottle at the Ginnie Springs plant the city or state do not benefit from the water sales. They gain all profits, we lose our ecosystems, well supplies and local watering hole without any financial gain to the state.

I share your pain. Nestle has been siphoning off water in Zephyrhills ever since buying Zephyrhills water. There are two pump stations for the city on out by me and you see semi-trucks there daily hooked to the hydrants. My well pump is getting clogged with sand weekly and this is the wet season.

I'd be contacting a lawyer and starting a class action suit. They are notorious for not acting the way they are supposed to.

We need more deregulation so corporations can flourish and the SJW concerns are suppressed, and the Trump administration is working to lubricate the process by lifting EPA protections that impede capitalistic growth.

Nestle is an important employer with a large shareholder base that supports the Conservative agenda of removing barriers to domestic trade. They contribute heavily to the Republican party war chest needed to get Trump re-elected. We need that above all else, especially in times when the NRA is out of money.
