Default Mouse Keeps Freezing - Help

Mouse will freeze and not respond to movement or left clicks.
A right click or 2 will free it.
from there seems fine till freezes again.

Brain-storming - What could cause this to happen so often?

If it’s wireless, change the batteries?

If it is not wireless, buy a new one.
I did have one that was not wireless, I took the cover off, took the ball out and cleaned all the dust bunnies out. it was filthy.
    It started working again

Also check your little plug-in if wireless; if it is loose the signal will suffer

Some mice, Reguardless of price, Are Junk.
I bought a top of the line from Razer awhile back. It would just stop responding when it felt like it.

Try shooting it with canned air.

Take the battery out and shoot in there, too. Most often, cookie crumbs block the left mouse key.

Get really aggressive when clicking the buttons and flipping it to dump stuff out.

    Good luck.

It was the batteries, but this is an answer I hadn't considered. It would account for all the symptoms. Well said.

Thing is, nothing should keep your cpu that busy. Usually if that the case, something is trying to do something it shouldn't/
