I hate when people apologize when they haven't done anything wrong. Man up, Cowboy.

You can have this one but you have to go get it.

In the spirit of one-upmanship and being generally annoying, I offer this palindrome:
Dennis, Nell, Edna, Leon, Nedra, Anita, Rolf, Nora, Alice, Carol, Leo, Jane, Reed, Dena, Dale, Basil, Rae, Penny, Lana, Dave, Denny, Lena, Ida, Bernadette, Ben, Ray, Lila, Nina, Jo, Ira, Mara, Sara, Mario, Jan, Ina, Lily, Arne, Bette, Dan, Reba, Diane, Lynn, Ed, Eva, Dana, Lynne, Pearl, Isabel, Ada, Ned, Dee, Rena, Joel, Lora, Cecil, Aaron, Flora, Tina, Arden, Noel, and Ellen sinned.

Does anyone remember the one Spencer Tracy used on Kathryn Hepburn in the movie " Desk Set "

Now there is an age test.

I used my Duck-Fu ( And you have to be careful how you say that one. ) to look for the longest palindrome ever written and was going to post it. I did find it but I won't post it because it is 17,000 words long. It is not a sentence as much as it is just a list of words. The head of Goolge used a program to compile it. I think that is cheating but then what else would you expect from Google.

One time at band camp ...

    No, that's not right.

One time in computer science we had to write a program that returned TRUE if a word was a palindrome or FALSE if it was not.

Then we threw a digital dictionary at it.

Mine ran pretty fast because I first asked, "Are the first and last letter the same, if NO, then FALSE and END."

If the first and last letters were the same, then I created a new word by storing and joining each letter in reverse order and asked, "Are these two words the same?"

I would run the routine for first and last letter in a nested loop that truncated the first and last on each iteration.

    Loop 1
    Get word string
    If word string = " <End Program> " then stop.
Call "Eliminate spaces in word string.dll" [ Call returns words ]
    Pal = false
    Loop 2
If length of words < 2 then Pal = true and end loop 2.
If first and last letter are equal then truncate first and last letter ( Procedure ) and loop 2
    End loop 2
display word string:" is a palindrome - ":Pal
    loop 1
    Stop

    Bench check:

Odd number of letters in a word string
    Iteration 1 words ="livenotonevil"
    iteration 2 words ="ivenotonevi"
    Iteration 3 words = "venotonev"

    iteration X words = "t" ( length <2 ) Palindrome = True

Even number of letters in word string
    iteration 1 words = " boob "
    Iteration 2 words = " oo "
    Iteration 3 Len=0 0<2 Palindrome = true

    Not a palindrome
    Iteration 1 words = " chessmen "
First and last not equal Palendrome = false.

Any word with one 1 letter could be considered a palindrome as it is spelled the same forward and backward. I consider palindrome to be false as default because most words or word strings are not palindrome so fails would happen more often than not.

It has been years since I had to use Big O therems so I am not sure if mine is quicker than yours or not and I do not claim it is. It is just how I would do it. Also there is more over head in mine because mine would compare sentences with irregular spaces. The spaces would need to be eliminated other wise madam im adam would return false but madamimadam would return true.

This was fun. Most of what I do are just coordinate numbers along 6 axis of motion and interpreting sensor data. Dry as hell.
