I found something out this eve at walmart. They will have more ammo on the shelves at the stores. The sales manager at the sporting goods counter told me walmart has to finish out there ammo contracts. My Winchester 555 i like was back already grabbed another box while i was there. I have 15 boxes now unopened.

I bought some ammo at Walmart yesterday; there was no shortage of anything - except friendliness and service. The twerp that works at the gun counter here is the most unfriendly employee I have ever met in a Walmart... anyway, they still had plenty of ammunition. The big problem is that they never carry much in hollow-point but a bought a bunch of FMJ 9mm for manufacturing once-fired brass.

I wondered about that. Ammunition contracts are usually entered into at the end of January and call for a certain amount of ammunition to be delivered, monthly, for the next twelve months.

I haven’t bought any ammunition form WallyWord in years. The wife and I only go to that Zoo if we can’t find what we need elsewhere.

You sound like you don't like the idea of them selling what they have left in stock. Im in a small town too. And walmart is the only place to buy ammo with in 15 mile radius. After the 15 miles it's Dicks sporting goods and local gun shops or more walmarts.

Wow 40 miles that is a major bummer. Ordering online is that an option for you? Also reloading is an option.
