I'm still reading, but get this:

Advocates of the measure see it as a way to close loopholes on gun laws that focus on firearms rather than ammo. Proponents, however, believe Prop 63 unfairly punishes law-abiding gun owners.
Advocate: One who supports or promotes the interests of a cause or group.

Proponent: One who argues in support of something; an advocate.

    I think "proponents: s/b "opponents."

    Back to the article ....

I read it and I think the law is designed to further California's agenda to make gun ownership as painful as possible.

California would like to be a gun-free zone.

An interesting side-effect is that local gun stores will be "ordering on-line," as proxies for gun owners. That means increased sales for them.

    Retail hates on-line competition.

I think then they should disarm all of the bodyguards for all of the elites in LA, SF, Beverly Hills etc. - then only the Bloods, Crips, and other gangs that they allow to roam the streets unmolested will be armed.......
Perhaps they should only give police a baton and whistle.......

The Peoples Republic of California is already a Gun Free zone for the predators. All the non criminal elements of that state are struggling to keep their heads above water.
This will result in much price gouging, less firearms practice, and more honest citizens getting killed by druggie predators. But that bunch of scum in Sacremento will be safe behind their armed guards and stong walls.

I don't know squat from California, OK?

Here in Texas, I just drive up to the nearest whatever site that sells ammo and I buy it. I've never bought online and that's OK.

For someone who lives in California, what's it typically like to buy ammo?

Is it hard to get from brick and mortar? Are there limitations? I could look up the legal code, but first-hand experience would be more informative.
