well, well, well...........
the democrats will claim that no violence happened on the capitol grounds because guns were banned there.....

the media will continue to show the mall ninjas in full battle dress in pics and video clips for months to come.....i was having a hard time wondering if a few pics were of demonstrators or were Sheriff Office SWAT members.......as i saw helmets, night vision gear, balaclavas, thigh rigs, and more tacti-cool stuff..........

and with selective editing on interviews the media will portray a hostile message from gun owners......

Most of the stories i read pretty much linked gun ownership to white supremacists, radicals and the far far right. If they didn't do that they made us sound like a bunch of red neck hillbilly idiots who don't even know which end is the dangerous end.

As I was looking over some of the pics of the rally, there were several guys carrying their rifles and wearing military gear. Why? Why would you even have a helmet and why would you were it to a gun rights rally. It’s embarrassing that these guys seem to want to play soldier. You’re not winning the hearts and minds of anti-gunners by looking like some kind of mercenary walk in the streets with what they would consider to be very dangerous and scary weapons. Make no mistake this is a propaganda situation. Do you want to look like a gun nut that’s just the way to do it dress up in battle gear carry your A.R. 15 with 100 round drum magazine wearing helmets, it sends a bad image. When they do things like that it just lives up to the perception that many who are not necessarily For or against guns a bad image. Most of this battle will be fought in public relations and you have to act accordingly. When guys put on displays like this it does not help our cause or position it really truly hurts it.

The question is, will this have any impact? You know that those tyrants are going to continue as if there was no rally at all. Then what? Nothing. They’re going to pass everything they want because you can’t stop them. You don’t matter and there’s nothing you can do to stop them. They got the votes. They’ve got the numbers. Their own state Supreme Court wouldn’t hear the appeal. It’s over because it got stated too late. Let that be a lesson.
Why such a defeatist attitude? I don't get it......How is that repression working for ya in NJ?

Exercising your 1st Amendment right for something you believe in is never wrong......even if you or I don't agree with it.

What these "mall ninjas" or "tac-tards" did was show America who the good guys really were.....No gun fights, no arrests nothing but polite self control. Today the left has to come up with a different story as to why the White Supremacist/Nazi/Racist rally didn't end in blood shed.

“A free people ought not only to be armed, but disciplined; to which end a uniform and well-digested plan is requisite; and their safety and interest require that they should promote such manufactories as tend to render them independent on others for essential, particularly for military, supplies.”
-John Adams

Join the 21st-century. In these days with Twitter, Facebook and the liberal media working against us and all the other social media outlets means that we have to do it better, cleaner, and smarter than they do. In essence we have to play the game the way they do by projecting an image that is not consistent with their belied styrotype. Why reinforce a stereotype the they believe in? If you’re the kind a guy who has the play soldier by dressing up and marching around, then there’s something wrong with you. Go ahead look like a yahoo and see how that works out for your public image.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

It ain't working, we've been doing it for years...the left owns the media...welcome to the 21st century.

I support all gun owners that want to express their 1st Amendment right as long as they do it respectfully and safely. Regardless of the garb they wear.

It’s ideas like that, that have us doomed. Walk into court in a pair of shorts and a wife beater tee and see how fast you are judge before you even say a word in you’re defense. You are on trial every time you stand up for your rights, make a statement or join a protest. Wear a black hoodie a put a bandana over your face and see what happens. You’ll be judged a Antifa thug even if you are the nicest most polite person anyone ever met. Prove me wrong.

On a day that was to honor a man who stood up amongst all adversity and said to not judge people by their color of their skin - the media, hollywood, and politicians were marching to their partys agenda. Who's racists? Who's pushing the race issue?

I've already proved you wrong. I'm sorry if you can't comprehend it......again I don't get it....why can't we as gun owners support one another instead trying to find fault, because it wasn't your idea or it didn't go exactly how you thought it should. What happened yesterday was awesome. I'm thankful for all the people that showed up and represented. YOU SHOULD BE YELLING IT FROM THE ROOFTOPS. But instead you got sand in your panties about it.

You know what they say about throwing rocks in a glass house....From the looks of the gun laws in your state of New Jersey, it needed some more well dressed unarmed citizens. But that's just me speaking from a Constitutional carry state.

How much more gun law repression will it take before you are willing to a stand side by side with people of the same mind set regardless of how they are dressed?

The event was full of extremists!...................................

Don't Forget That Martin Luther King Jr. Was Once Denounced as an Extremist

As Monday’s observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day approaches, King’s “I Have a Dream” speech at the March on Washington is sure to be celebrated and replayed across the U.S. In today’s popular imagination, the March on Washington stands as one of the most American events of the 20th century—the power of U.S. democracy made real in the quarter of a million people who gathered on the National Mall and the majesty of King’s speech that August day.
At the time, however, that was not the case. In 1963, most Americans disapproved of the event, many congressmen saw it as potentially seditious, and law enforcement from local police to the FBI monitored it intensively (under code name Operation Steep Hill). Indeed, it was after King’s speech at the March on Washington that the FBI—with President Kennedy’s approval—decided to increase their monitoring of the civil rights leader. With the FBI describing King as “demagogic” and “the most dangerous . . . to the Nation . . . from the standpoint . . . of national security,” Attorney General Robert Kennedy signed off on intrusive surveillance of his living quarters, offices, phones and hotel rooms, as well as those of his associates.......

My turn.

You're wrong.

You can't control what other people do and as such, you can't sweat it. All you can do is control your response to it. You can't control the media, the guys who dress in tac gear and carry guns to a rally, the members of this forum. Expressing your opinion is fine, though. But here? In this forum you're partly preaching to the choir and partly antagonizing people who would support you in your 2A beliefs.

Why bother? Kinda pointless, really.

If you think you can do something within your power, write some letters to congress critters and express yourself well. You do a good job on here. If you do it there, you'll be better off and you'll do a lot more good. Hopefully, you do that already, actually.

I get the argument about how you present yourself, both sides of it.

The point about looking like a thug gangsta vs middle class joe vs a well organized professional.

Society has all types. That’s what our society is. The only thing we all agree on is the importance of the 2nd amendment.

Supporting the second amendment, I’ll stand with second amendment supporters, regardless of how they dress. If they wear a mask, I’ll certainly be cautious around them. Free citizens exercising our constitutionally declared rights that are above the government. The right to assemble and speak out against the assault of the second constitutional right, the right to bear arms.

The one arrest I did hear about was possibly 22 ye old girl from antifa. Dressed in black, put on a face mask. Law enforcement told her that’s not allowed, remove it, she did it again, they told her again, the third time they arrested her.

So the good judgement of those who attended should be lauded. Law enforcement had no issues with our armed colleagues exercising their rights!

This protest was a public relations success. Let’s see if the Virginia state government was listening to the citizens or not.. that my friends is tbd and will take some time.

And she got her wish, it’s a felony charge so she’ll never own a firearm now.

The real "good" effected by those dressing as Rambo-wannabe's is that they scare or infuriate the Nancy Pelosi's and all the other DEMOCRAT politico's across the nation. Other than that, it seems to be an exercise in adolescence. I'm glad they made a good showing for the DEMOCRATS and their communications branch, the MSM.

"............ Let’s see if the Virginia state government was listening to the citizens or not.. that my friends is tbd and will take some time."

Indeed. But considering that the fart-faced governor has no moral conscience and decided to remain "on the payroll" in spite of the "black face incident" which would have shamed a decent man into resigning, and the state itself has turned "Blue", and the legislators have the confidence of being recently elected/re-elected to their positions, and anti-gun legislation instantly became their "Cause", led by "fart-face", I don't think they are listening, or even would admit to watching. Like the legislators of Kalifornia and New York, they are detached from a near to an almost sure majority of the electorate.

Fine, I’ll take the point from Wag. Just keep in mind that we are in the minority and there’s a lot of undecided who have a say in who’s in office. We need their votes for our cause. You’ll look like some ultra right wing radical militia group and not the ones the second amendment talks about.
I’ll be the reasonable looking and speaking guy who’s trying to change the average persons thinking about guns and not reinforcing it.

There is a time and a place for being diplomatic and a time and place for a show of force. The rally did both. It was a peaceful rally and folks played by the rules, lobbying as they should. In the same breath they displayed power in numbers and it did scare the crap out of the governor, especially after being shunned by the national guard. It won’t make any difference as they are out to make political statements. They are going to continue on this path until the time to talk is over or the Supreme Court pulls the tampon out and owns up to their responsibility. At the end of the day, the Supreme Court is the only entity that can curb the inevitable.
