Default Hello interested in targets and target shooting

    Hello NGF,

I am interested in all things target and target shooting. I would like to know what everyone likes and dislikes about their targets. What they consider the best targets to be. What they shoot targets with ect. I have some ideas on what I think the perfect targets are but not sure about the rest of the gun community. Thanks for having me on here and I look forward to many discussions on the topic and others as well

Default Greetings and Welcome to the Forum

If you're new to target shooting I recommend a standard bullseye target. Start close then move out as you progress. Don't start off expecting too much or you might get discouraged and give up.

Watch out for offensive targets if you shoot with people. Offensive as in targets that might offend people like certain political figures and remember it's against the law to threaten the life of the president even if it's our current one or even some animals offend.

I shoot silhouettes for practice. It depends on how serious you want to get as far as how serious your targets get. My daughter prefers to shoot zombie targets.

Welcome and glad you made it.

As far as targets go. I have a simple system.

I use card board markers and stickers. They are free or very cheap. I am shooting holes in it so cheap is good.

Thanks LCPtoter and larry. Larry i agree that the cardboard is cheap but do you ever miss the sound knowing that you hit the target. LCP what kind of reactive targets ones that reset, gongs, or ones that fall over. I'm tired of the cheap ones from the box stores. $20-$30 and first shot all the powder coat flakes off. Or someone out shooting with you (my sister in law) hit the 1/4" rod leg then it was worthless.
