CryBaby Extended scope rail for Anschutz Match 54

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]Hello: I would like to mount a NF 8-32x56BR scope on my Anschutz Match 54 22LR of the year 1963. This rifle (which has been rarely used, thus being like new) 28" barrel, 12 lbs, has a single rail for the diopter. The fittest extended rail I have detected on internet is "DIP Anschutz 54 Action Scope Rail 16005" by <http://www.joeboboutfitters.com/Anschutz_54_Action_Scope_Rail_16005_p/dip16005.htm>. However, it is said not to fit the Match action.

Is anyone aware of a solution? I do not need additional MOA, as the scope has 50MOA (enough for the small distances (max 300y) available here. I am based in Italy (Lucca), however such components should have no restriction to export.

    Editing post:
I have now noticed two couples of small screws on the above of the bar along a straight line from the diopter to the viewer tunnel. The screws are separated, into each couple, by about 1". The 1st screw of these couples is at about 1" and 8" from the beginning of the bar (measuring from the bolt side). I wonder whether these couples of screws are to set in a receptacle for scope rings. The farthest from the bolt of these screw couples bolt could perhaps fit a ring for even a Lymann long scope.

2nd editing: The image above from internet (without any link to pose a query) shows that the indicated screws have the function that I suspected.

    Thanks

As the author of this post I am quite surprised that no one has noticed the absurdity of the mount of the Lyman scope shown in the photo. The designers of such precision 22LR rifle have ensured that the barrel has no contacts with the wood. So, hindering the normal vibrations of the barrel at shooting by those mounts of the Lyman is simply an absurdity. Cheers, chiendarret

BKL makes good mounts for dovetailed receivers. That mount for the Lyman scope is perfectly fine. The same mounting system was used on the Remington, Winchester, Anschutz, BSA Martini, and several other high-quality target rifles.

Here's my Lyman on my BSA Martini Mk V.....

Thanks a lot for suggesting BKL. They just make what I was looking for. I have contacted them: hope they will ship to me (Italy). chiendarret

Glad I could help. I don't know why they wouldn't send a mount to you, but there's lots of things I don't know. I hope it works out for you.
