    Default VR games

Ok I know not many members of this forum are into VR ( oculus rift or Vive systems) <--- There are others but the ones giving you the best VR experience are these two.
The games in VR are the next thing in gaming, you just can't explain how "being" in a game is, and seeing everything around you in 3D looks like, you just have to put this thing on your face and I know and bet anything your first word will be a swear or a laugh. These days I'm playing one called Arizona Sunshine (horde mode) it's about shooting zombies, yeah I know you probably think it must get boring fast and you don't feel the recoil of your gun etc. It's true for the gun but it's so intense that your palm sweat lol and the guns are very precise, if you aim like a dick, you hit nothing so your knowledge of guns is very useful in there, there are a few vids with peoples (Brits) obviously not used to guns who shoot like dicks and spend all of their ammo too quick and never go really far. There are tons of shooter game one staged in an old west town where you duel it out with other peoples (real peoples) here's a video.
Edit: Again, watching this is nowhere near what you see in the game although it's the same, being "in it" is hard to describe

They say time flies when you're having fun, it should also say times flies faster when you're old.

It's so much fun it's addictive btw I doubt that the guy in A.S. is at the 370th wave, I can't get past the 22nd and it's a lot harder (lot more zombies at the same time) than what this guy shows sometimes 8 or 9 runners at the same time plus the regular ones and it's friggin night time. you have to use the uzi for close range defence literally shooting them 2 feet away just sweeping
Could be he's playing easy level I just got in as it was so probably normal and there's a hard lol

This looks like a lot of fun, how can I get started in doing this? Can you put up a list of things needed?

Depending on your computer it could be pricey. But if you have a recent machine (AMD Ryzen for a processor or an intel 7) and a good graphic card all you need is the Oculus rift package.
Presently I have an AM3 machine with a 8350 vishera (they're $119 here so no more than $80-90 in the US) it runs everything but i want to upgrade. The graphic card is what needs to be relatively new so if you do recent video games you probably have what it takes already. I have a MSI 1070 TI .

They made this to see if your comp can run VR, there's a test [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
This will tell you what fails to meet requirements

I bought my Oculus rift at Newegg in the US they're $399 but I recommend another sensor ($59) and you absolutely need at least 3 USB 3 ports on your machine for 2 of the sensors and the headset, otherwise like me you will have to get a USB card, and your graphic card needs a HDMI in all the new ones have it.

Personally I think it sucks that stores don't have some kind of demo or very few of them do, it would be the perfect thing to really know if you want to invest, but if you're a video game player there's no way in hell you will not like this unless like my brother you get motion sickness easily. They also rate the games by "comfortable, moderate and intense" as in watching a 3D all around you scene/movie whether sitting or standing is comfortable and flying a jet is intense cause you do pitch yaw and roll and your brain sees it as real so the feeling you get in a roller coaster going down a steep hill or doing a barrel roll is the same but you don't move so that's very confusing for your brain loll and some get that motion sickness feeling more than others
Man I wish I could teleport you guys here to try it

I have the AMD 8150 which is not recommended. Besides the minimum requirements I would not expect good results untill you go well past the minimums. My new system is midrange but I haven't decided what VR system to get yet. The Vive has more support by big time gamers and generally considered better but since the Oculus dropped in price a few months ago it makes it very competitive.

To get started all you need is a powerful enough PC then the VR system which they nickel and dime you to death to get a robust system. You should get the extra transmitters to locate you better and in the back. If you're not familiar with VR systems the game locates your head and hands. So when you turn your head and move the controller in your hands it follows your movement and it translates all that movement and places you spatially in the game.

If you want a sample you can get VR goggles for your phone. They're about $25. There's simple 3d movies and such or 180/360 deg interactive movies, mostly porn, that allows you to look around in 3d.

I've tried those at best buy, they're nowhere near what the Oculus or the Vive can do. It's like comparing peas to watermelon '

I agree tech wise but Vive support sucks and replacement parts transmitter/sensor (which is probably the only part which can give you problems) I haven't been able to locate a store. On the other hand you can get the Oculus sensors cheap anywhere which is why I leaned towards the Oculus and so far I haven't been deceived by the lack of anything and I've been driving it at least 4 to 5 hours a day lol.

Vive's back up is Steam (an open software Co. where peoples can create games) but you can also buy and play steam games on the Oculus (I did and do) and it works as good as Oculus games
Oculus's backup is Facebook yeah I know but business/money wise and peoples to make it better are far superior than Steam, if Mr. FB sees a profit and he does he will put his best brains on it (and he does)
Here's a video of how they're trying to make a system without the computer (less performance of course) and no tracking modules (sensors) so very "portable"

Oh and btw there is a part that's giving me problems... well sort of, it's the wire attached to the headset. I made it so my wire goes from the computer to hooks on the ceiling and comes down in the middle of my play field. It's great cause you don't get tangled in the wire when you turn and turn but all that turning is transmitted to the wire itself so I ended up with a twisted wire loll.
Something to keep in mind, every so often, take the headset off and turn it back to it's original position if you're in a game that requires you to always look around you, cause most of the time a person lefty or right hand will always turn the same way clock wise or counter. Something I found out with this lol
