Default Gerogia Bear Hunting Guide suggestions??

As a lot of you know I am fairly new to hunting and not overly experienced. I've had pretty good luck hog hunting and got my first Deer this past Christmas week. My next goal is a Bear. Bear hunting is illegal in Florida which makes Georgia my next closest place. I am thinking I would want to go with a guide or at least a semi guided hunt for my first time. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good guide in Georgia? What should I expect to pay? I have no clue what a fair price would be.

    Thanks,
    Gary

Florida is suppose to have another limited hunt in 2019. Mostly the northern BMU's ( bear management units).

I used the deer hunt just north of the Florida border in Georgia and never saw any Bear or sign. The very first day I hunted in north Florida I had one walk up to the stand. I would look at North Carolina or Maine both are listed in the top 5 of Bear hunting states.

I would love to see Florida open up Bear hunting. I hear the Bear population is coming back in FL.

North Carolina or Maine would be a good option. I love Maine. Very pretty State.

Maine is big bear hunting. Nj has lots of fat bears. We've had some upto 700lbs.

The first thing you can expect to pay is some massive speeding tickets, which will also bump up your driving insurance costs. The entire state is a
"construction zone". You can tell, not by work in progress, machinery, equipment or barriers, but by little 8X10 notices they erect on the side of the road,
designating any given area they so choose, arbitrarily, the extra fine cost of a real work zone.

The latest ticket scam, (I guess the "fast yellow light" got old) is to set the road speed at 35MPH, then up to 45 MPH, then up to 55MPH, 55MPH, 55MPH,
then, suddenly, 25MPH, where they catch you decelerating. Amazingly, the cops are always riding that sweet spot, right between the 55 and 25 MPH signs.
OF COURSE, usually the cops have gone out that morning, and made that area a magical "construction zone", which has a itty-bitty sign, but
no equipment, barriers, materials, or construction vehicles.

Want to save money and hunt bears? Go up NORTH where the bears are. Stay on the interstate, all the way thru Georgia.

A convinient spot might be one stop up from the Atlanta airport on MARTA
