Default Bought my 1st 8lb jug of gun powder today.

Went to Geisers for a 1lb of Alliant sport pistol. They were out. It usually runs 21.00 a lb. He said we have 8lb jugs. 125.00. That's a deal. Bulk for now on for me.

That's going to last you a long time! I have been loading 45's out of a 8lb of WST and 9mm out of a 8lb jug of W231 for a couple of years and they still seem more than half full.

Wish my H110 would last 2 years loll

    Edit:
    45 Gr. for 460 times 100 rounds is 4500Gr.
30 Gr. for Casull times 100 rounds 3000.... Oh no!

Tell us how those 45-70 sucks that powder out

45-70 uses IMR4198 like nobodies business! I also don't shoot 45-70 like i shoot 9mm and 45acp either. Without running down and checking i think i use 4.5 of WST in the .45 and somewhere are 2.5-3 of W231 in 9mm so it goes along way. 1,000 rounds doesn't even make a dent where 50 rounds of 45-70 uses over a half pound. I did get a almost full 8lb jug of 4198 from my dads shop but that's long gone several years ago.

Those big bore revolvers are pretty good at gobbling up powder! When I used to shoot a lot of big revolvers, I seemed to always be running out of H110! My .450 bushmaster has a huge appetite for Lil Gun. Been helping a friend getting into reloading a bit more; he started 45-70 about a month ago...that is a powder gobbling cartridge too! Nowadays I am burning up a bit of rifle powders...having too much fun...I typically will not buy anything but 8 lb. canisters unless I am trying something new.

I plan to keep stocking up for the next year. Incase another ''ammo shortage'' occurs. I researched if reloading components were affected.
