nope im not goofing on anyone, the only gun ive ever owned is a simple western style six shooter, i wanted to get a "when the shit hits the fan" type of weapon something that would protect me better than a six shooter. I read about the AK's and AR-15's decided to get an AK because I wanted something less finicky, less likely to jam, easier to operate, and I will likely never be a good enough shooter to take advantage of an AR-15's superior range and accuracy. I've been looking online and at local gun shops for an AK everywhere I looked was sold out I put my name on waiting list at some places. I happened to drive by a gun shop, I stopped in and the guy had a couple AR-15's and what looked to me was an AK-47, I asked the owner of the shop if it was an AK-47 he said it was, so remembering how difficult its been for me to find anyone one, I decided the best AK to buy was the one for sale so I bought it.
that being said Im a little angry to find out the gun really isn't an AK its a cv vz-58 I searched for pictures of the cv vz 58 and it looks just like my gun so I have little doubt thats what it is, and the guy at the store told me it was a new gun but now I find out the cv vz-58 was discontinued in 2010 so evidently it is not a new gun. I paid 1200 bucks for it when buying the gun I knew 1200 was a bit steep but I didn't care because I remembered what a hard time I had finding one available and I wanted to get one before uncle sam makes them illegal so I didn't have a problem paying to much for what I thought was an AK-47. I might have to go back to the shop and see if this guy will give me my money back since he lied about what type of gun it was and told me it was new.

Sorry I thought you were goofing on us/me. I would think it's a good rifle, but I know nothing about them - I'm an AK fan. With that said, they are on gunbroker, lots of mags and everything as well...

There are bunch there to look at and it doesn't seem anyone is bidding on these for some reason.

No one is bidding on anything on this gun. You may be able to get one cheaper on there than you paid.

If your receipt says AK47 with the serial, he will have to take it back...

    Good luck.

Re read this please over and over. Being new to firearms of this nature, it easy to step off in a pile of poo pretty quick. Good luck in getting a refund. This is an excellant forum, ask any questions you may have. We enjoy answering. Hell, I have been around firearms for 50 years and I still ask about things.

That's really a pretty cool gun

I've got to learn more about it and the reliably and parts availability. That may go on my list of got to have after the ban :-D But with 100 million AKs manufactured, I don't think the parts will be available like the AK...

You would only save around $300 or 400 on gunbroker, but mags are plentiful...

You can leave it like that, but you would probably want to close it. I don't know the gun.

    Some videos on doing it:

Youtube and these forums have been my friend :-)

You know, with an extra 300 or 400, you can get a decent handgun semi-auto used...

    Honestly, take the suggestions here...

Rule #3. Don't be afraid or refrain from asking what may turn out to be stupid questions. Better to ask than to remain silent and provide proof by your actions
    Also:

    And:

Rule #1. always read the instructions before operating any equipment whether it's blender or a firearm.
Rule #2. NEVER force anything open or closed on a firearm.
Rule #3. Don't be afraid or refrain from asking what may turn out to be stupid questions. Better to ask than to remain silent and provide proof by your actions.
Rule #4. Oh, Hell, three's enough for now.

Watch the videos in lue of the manuals. Make certain you know your gun like everyone told you. Learn to take it down and back again.

Best of everything with it. And ask people questions, they are really here to help, I can't tell you all the help I get. It's also bad because you want more though LOL
