I'm old and live alone. I have numerous loaded firearms staged around my house for defense. If anyone breaks in here I will shoot. When they can NO LONGER hurt me I will STOP shooting.
Many years ago, I was a police officer, I shot a young man coming at me with a shotgun. I shot him once he went down and dropped the shotgun. I bandaged him, and shipped him to the hospital under arrest. My Sgt. was a loud mouth and told me I should have killed the kid. I replied "He didn't need Killing. He needed Stopping. I stopped him." It was obvious to me the Sgt. had never killed anyone. I had.

Good point. People talk about shooting someone laying on the ground helpless and bleeding because they did something illegal. Until you point a gun at someone and pull the trigger - knowing that person is going to die at your hand, you really don't know whether you can go through with such an act or not. After you do, I don't think you'll ever be quite the same. To do so to a helpless individual takes the issue to a whole 'nother level. I would not care to be around anyone who could do so; I'd certainly never trust them.

Absolutely happy with this animal being behind bars for the rest of his life for pre-meditated, first degree murder, but how do you get convicted on four counts of murder if you only kill two people?

I though first and second degree were mutually exclusive. it's either pre-meditated or it isn't.

The evidence & recordings proved beyond a shadow of a doubt premeditation. IMHO he actually set them up as he suspected they were the same ones who robbed him before. To some that's justice. To the law, it's murder! He got what he deserved.
If voting could change anything for the better, It'd already be illegal.
